The feeder means is provided with a feeder (13) arranged to operate within the box 15, connected to a piston rod (11) or similarly to a vibrator (10), with which a substantial vertical vibration (V) of the feeder is provided. The open lower end of the box (15) is located near the surface (22) of the electrolyte melt (23) above it, to operate within the electrolyte crust (25).
