Abstract
A dimmer circuit for a load circuit having a low-voltage halogen light or lights (NV) and a power transformer (Tr) or power transmitter connected upstream thereof, for variation of the real power taken from an AC voltage supply and emitted to a load circuit (Tr, NV) has: a high-frequency AC voltage generator (20) which emits an output AC voltage (uW) from an essentially smoothed or unsmoothed, rectified low-frequency intermediate circuit voltage (uN) to the load circuit (Tr, NV) and a variable delay switching element or a digital/analog propagation time element, in particular a lowpass filter (PT1) consisting of a variable resistor (R4, R5, P) and a synchronous capacitor (C1) in a series circuit. The circuit arrangement is intended to be designed such that an improved (in particular reduced in size) dimmer circuit permits continuous dimming control between zero and maximum of, in particular, low-voltage halogen lamps. This is achieved according to the invention by providing a synchronous circuit (V5, V7, TH; R16, V13) which is connected on the output side to the delay switching element, to the propagation time element or to the synchronous capacitor (C1) of the lowpass filter (PT1) and, on the input side, is supplied from the rectified intermediate circuit voltage (uN) or the AC voltage supply. <IMAGE>
