Abstract

Fremgangsmåte for å bestemme kurslinje og kryss-linjekomponenten til vannhastigheten i forhold til et fartøy med kurs langs en valgt linje, hvor frem-gangsmåten innbefatter følgende trinn: (a) generering av elektroniske pulser og videre-føring av disse til en Doppler - Sonar-transduser innrettet langskips i forhold til fartøyets kjøl, (b) utstråling av pulser fra Doppler - Sonar-transduseren i et antall retninger ved en vinkel 6 i forhold til horisontalen til et vannsjikt under, men nær fartøyets overflate, og samtidig (c) utstråling av pulser fra Doppler - Sonar-transduseren i et antall retninger ved en vinkel a i forhold til horisontalplanet og større enn 6 i forhold til sjøbunnen, (d) detektering av reflekterte signaler fra pulser ved trinn (b), sammenligning av frekvensen til de reflekterte signalene med frekvensen til de sendte signalene og beregning av vannhastigheten i forhold til fartøyet, og samtidig (e) detektering av reflekterte signaler fra pulsene ved trinn (c), sammenligning av de reflekterte signalers frekvens med de sendte signalers frekvens og beregning av hastigheten til fartøyet i forhold til sjøbunnen, og (f) beregning av vannhastigheten i forhold til den valgte kurslinjen og ved rette vinkler i forhold til denne kursen.
