Description
The present invention relates to a cage construction comprising a number of float tubes and a number of clamps arranged at a distance from each other around the float tubes, where said clamps comprise at least two annular sleeves with a respective continuous opening which encloses the float tube, and which are connected via intermediate cross braces for recording and retention of the respective float tubes, and that a connection is arranged in said cross brace for braces or chains that run to other clamps on the cage.
Traditionally, plastic cages have been designed in that the float pipes, usually made of PE material (polyethylene), have a primary safety function for the construction. The float pipes then take up all the forces, and distribute these further out to the mooring system. This means that the float tubes must have relatively thick walls to absorb these forces.
In these traditional cages, it has also been common to have chain or brace connections between the clamps, so that the clamps retain their position on the structure. The chain or strut connections have also been dimensioned as "secondary protection", with the aim of preventing the construction from "cracking" in the event of an accident (for example in the event of a break in the float tubes).

The present cage concept differs significantly from this, in that the primary safety function and secondary safety function have been switched. This has been achieved through a unique construction where the primary forces act through integrated strut/chain connections instead of the float tubes. Chain/stay connections around preferably the entire cage have a primary safety function in that they absorb forces acting on the structure and transfer these to the mooring system. The float tubes can still take up some forces, but these are mainly linked to the requirement that the construction should retain its preferably round shape, as well as that they should be buoyant components in the construction. The float tubes also have a secondary safety function with the aim of preventing the structure from "cracking" in the event of an accident, for example in the event of a break in the chain/stay connection.
The forces absorbed by the chain/stay connections are transferred to the mooring system through integrated fastening elements in the clamps. The construction of multifunctional, integrated fastening elements is thus unique. When combining floating pipes and clamps, the stay is quickly connected by, for example, fitting the pipe clamp into place in the clamp. What is new about this construction is also that the mooring is mounted through the quick coupling. This solution provides additional security, in that the mooring becomes secondary protection for the pipe clamp and therefore also secondary protection for the strut connections (which must absorb the weight of forces in the construction).
It is therefore an aim to produce a clamping solution that uses chain or strut connections as the primary securing function on cages, to relieve the forces in the float tubes. It is a further purpose to produce a solution which can be used on clamps made of different materials, and which can be used on float tubes made of different materials.
The above-mentioned purpose is achieved with a cage structure, as stated in the independent claim 1, that at said connection is designed as a common quick coupling for receiving said stays or chains and for receiving mooring chains, the stays or chains being arranged between each other's clamps are designed to accommodate primary forces that run around the cage structure, to relieve the forces in the float tubes, and that said primary forces are transmitted via the common connection to the mooring chains.
Alternative designs of the cage construction are indicated in the independent claims 2-5.
The mooring chains can be designed to function as secondary protection for the connection in each clamp, and as secondary protection for said stays or chains.
The connection can be designed as a pipe that runs at least partially through the crossbars in the clamp. The lower cross member may comprise a fastening or holding part for receiving a lower part of the connection and the upper cross member may comprise fasteners for firm attachment of the connection.
A second pipe can run at least partially through one or more of the cross struts, arranged for the attachment of a further chain or the like.
The above-mentioned purpose is also achieved with a method as stated in independent claim 6, in a cage construction as discussed above, comprising the steps that mooring chains are attached to the connection, and that the rods or chains between each other's clamps are attached to the same connection, so that primary forces in the cage construction, for to relieve the forces in the float tubes, runs through the struts and is transmitted via the common connection to the mooring chains.
During assembly of float tubes and clamps, the stays can be quickly connected by snapping the aforementioned connection into place in the clamp, and at the same time fitting the mooring chain to the connection.
Oppfinnelsen skal nå beskrives nærmere ved hjelp av de vedlagte figurer, hvori: The invention will now be described in more detail with the help of the attached figures, in which:
Figur 1 viser en merdkonstruksjon i følge oppfinnelsen. Figure 1 shows a cage construction according to the invention.
Figure 2 shows in more detail a section of float tubes and clamps according to the invention.
Figure 3 shows a view of a clamp according to the invention, seen from the side.
Figure 1 shows a cage structure 50 which comprises a number of float tubes 12 which are held in place by means of a number of clamps 10 arranged around the cage. A mesh bag 52 is arranged in the cage, where the mesh bag will accommodate the maritime species to be reared in the cage in a known manner. The cage structure 50 is further held in place by an anchoring system comprising a number of mooring chains 20. These mooring chains 20 can run diagonally out and down into the water from several different clamps, and they can also run down along the net bag 52, for example to lower fastening rings for attaching the net bag in the cage.
Figure 2 shows a closer section where, in an exemplary embodiment, two float tubes 12 are placed next to each other, and where the float tubes are held together by means of several clamps 10 arranged at a distance from each other around the cage structure. A stay 18 or a chain runs between the clamps 10. On the right in Figure 2, a strut is shown, while the left side of Figure 2 shows a chain. This can of course be the other way around, or both braces and chain can be used between the clamps.
A clamp 10 according to the invention is shown in more detail in Figure 3. As can be seen, the clamp comprises at least two annular sleeves 22 which can be threaded onto the float tubes 12, or fastened in some other way to connect the float tubes. The sleeves 22 can be whole or alternatively openable. A number of cross braces run between the annular sleeves, in the example shown an upper cross brace 24, an intermediate cross brace 26 and a lower cross brace 28.
From one of the sleeves 22 and/or the upper crossbar 24, a row support 36 can extend upwards, where the row support 36 can also be equipped with a suspension 38 for the groove bag 52 or other equipment that is desirable to hang on the clamp 10.
As mentioned earlier, it has been common for traditional cages to have chain or brace connections between the clamps, so that the clamps retain their position on the structure. The chain or strut connections have also been designed as "secondary protection", with the aim of preventing the construction from "cracking" in the event of an accident. In order for the rod 18 or the chain to be able to absorb primary forces, a quick coupling in the form of a pipe clamp 16 is therefore arranged in the clamp 10. This pipe clamp 16 can extend completely or partially through the aforementioned transverse struts 24, 26, 28, and is designed for quick coupling with one or more mooring chains 20, so that the forces from the stays 18 or the chains are transferred through the pipe clamp 16 to the mooring chains 20. In this way, it is avoided that the float pipes 12 absorb forces to a significant extent. Even if the float tubes should still absorb some forces, this will be minimal compared to the known solutions. Furthermore, the mooring chains 20 will function as secondary protection for the pipe clamp 16 in each clamp 10, and as secondary protection for said stays 18 or chains.
The pipe clamp 16 can be snapped into place in the clamp 10, and in addition as additional security, the lower crossbar 28 (alternatively the intermediate crossbar) can comprise a fastening or holder part 30 for receiving a lower part of the pipe clamp 16, and the upper crossbar 24 can include fastening means 32 for firm attachment of the pipe socket 16, for example a screw or bolt connection.
The clamp 10 can also be equipped with a second pipe clamp 34, which can also run through one or more of the aforementioned transverse struts 24, 26, 28. This second pipe clamp 34 can function as a suspension for chains or the like that run down the cage, for example to hold or secure the net bag, or for that matter for anchoring the cage. Alternatively, said stays 18 or chains can also be attached to the second pipe clamp 34, or a double set of stays or chains can run between the clamps, attached to respective pipe clamps 16, 34.
