Abstract
For å muliggjøre og lette søking etter dekningsområder av typen "celle" sendes flere (så som to) synkroniseringsoverføringer i en ramme og en ikke-jevn innbyrdes avstand. Informasjon formidles via disse avstander mellom påfølgende synkroniseringsoverføringer, og flere nivåer av ikke-jevn avstand kan brukes til å formidle forskjellig type informasjon. Særlig kan slike overføringer sendes i forskjellige subrammer i en ramme, og hver sending kan da sendes i en av flere symbolperioder i sin respektive subramme. Overføringene kan sendes i slike ikke-jevnt fordelte subrammer for å formidle rammegrenser. En bestemt synkroniseringsoverføring kan sendes i en av flere mulige symbolperioder, i avhengighet av informasjonen, så som en bestemt gruppe celle-identifikasjon. Avstandene mellom de enkelte synkroniseringsoverføringer kan også brukes til å formidle lengden av en syklisk prefiks. En sekundær synkroniseringsoverføring som fører en celleidentifikasjon kan sendes ved en forhåndbestemt tidsforskyvning fra en av synkroniseringsoverføringene.
