Abstract
Den foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører en motor av stempeltypen med indre forbrenning som drives av en blanding av brennbart drivstoff og luft omfattede minst et forbrenningskammer (11) og et stempel (2) bevegbart anordnet i forbrenningskammeret (11) for å komprimere blandingen av drivstoff og luft for slik å tilveiebringe et maksimalt kompresjonsforhold i området 15:1 til 25:1; et innløp (4) anordnet i forbrenningskammeret for å motta en mengde av blandingen av drivstoff og luft inn i forbrenningskammere (11); en tenningsanordning (3) anordnet i forbrenningskammeret (11) for å antenne blandingen av drivstoff og luft mottatt i forbrenningskammeret (11) ved en veivaksels (9) vinkelposisjon i området 0 grader til 15 grader etter øvre dødpunkt (ATDC) av stempelet i forbrenningskammeret (11); idet forbrenningskammeret og stempelet er anordnet til å redusere faren for heteflekker og motoren er konfigurert til å ha en brennhastighet hvor 90% av drivstoffet blir brent i en veivaksels vinkelområde på mellom 15° til 40°.
