Abstract
En genetisk modifisert mikroorganisme i stand til direkte produksjon av en 16-hydroksylert makrolidforbindelse, og en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av en 16-hydroksylert makrolidforbindelse ved anvendelse av mikroorganismen. Spesifikt vedrører oppfinnelsen en genetisk modifisert mikroorganisme med DNA som koder for et polypeptid involvert i biosyntesen av en makrolidforbindelse pladienolid og DNA som koder for et polypeptid med en pladienolid 16-hydroksylase aktivitet, og en fremgangsmåte for å fremstille en 16-hydroksylert makrolidforbindelse som omfatter trinnene ved å dyrke den genetisk modifiserte mikroorganismen i et dyrkingsmedium og samle en 16-hydroksylert makrolidforbindelse fra dyrkingsmediet.
