Abstract

En beinplate (10) innbefatter minst et vridningsmodifiserende innslag (TMF). Hvert TMF (16) er strukturert for å minske vridningsstivheten til platen i forhold til langsgående motsatte partier, men kan modifiseres for å øke vridningsstivheten ved dette. Hver TMF er definert av stenger (30, 32) sammenhengende med de sideveise sidene (26, 28) av platen og en åpning (34) som strekker seg sideveis mellom disse. I en foretrukket utførelse strekker motsatte fremspring (36, 40) seg inn i åpningen for å definere gjengede usammenhengende veggpartier for mottaket av en innsats, så som en stillskrue. I en utførelse kan bioabsorberbare og/eller bioaktive innsatser brukes for midlertidig å øke vridningssstivheten til platen under innledende fiksering og deretter ha redusert vridningsstivhet for å etterlikne normal kallus. Platen er fortrinnsvis brukt med festeinnretninger med fast vinkel og som kan utsettes for store vridningslaster postoperativt.
