Abstract

The feeder comprises a protruding nozzle tip having at least one lower wall provided with a melt-contacting inner surface, a generally flat outer surface and an end surface at an extremity of the tip extending between the inner and outer surfaces. The inner surface is generally flat and preferably, towards the outer surface, viewed in a direction moving towards the outer point of the tip at an angle of inclination of not more than 8 degrees. The end surface is generally flat and extends from the inner surface to the outer surface at a point angle of less than 88 °, for example in the range 15-80 °, relative to the inner surface in a direction away from the tip of the tip. The feeder casts a metal foil article which has reduced surface defects caused by the metal oxide deficiency during casting.
