Abstract

På denne måte muliggjøres en høy varmefjerning fra reaktoren, tilfredsstillende avgassing av de uttatte polymerpartikler og gjenvinning av reaksjonsgassen tømt ut sammen med polymerpartiklene og også gassen anvendt for avgassing av polymerpartiklene.Process for polymerizing ethylene or of ethylene with additional 1-olefins, wherein the ethylene polymerizes in the presence of a catalyst in a gas phase reactor and reaction gas comprising propane and unpolymerized ethylene is circulated to remove polymerization heat, wherein the polymer particles are continuously or discontinuously removed from the reactor. the major portion of the co-removed gas and polymer particles are degassed, the gas is liberated from entrained fine particles and separated from a low boiling fraction comprising ethylene or from a high boiling fraction containing additional 1-olefins or alkanes having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms in a first separation step, a propane fraction is separated in a second separation step and this propane fraction is used for the degassing of polymer particles removed from the reactor, the amount of ethylene in the propane fraction being less than 1 mol% and the amount of 1-olefins and alkanes having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms in propane the action is less than 4 mol%, in each case based on the total propane fraction. Furthermore, an apparatus for carrying out the process is described. In this way a high heat removal from the reactor is enabled, satisfactory degassing of the extracted polymer particles and recovery of the reaction gas emptied out together with the polymer particles and also the gas used for degassing the polymer particles.
