Abstract
Fremgangsmåte for sveising av kontinuerlige eller periodiske overlappenetrenngsskjøter ved anvendelse av en begravd gassmetallysbue ("gas metal buried are", GMBA) sveiseprosess. En første komponent (22) er GMBA-sveiset til en underliggende andre metallkomponent (24) ved å danne en lysbue (28) mellom en avsmeltbar metallelektrode (26) og en overflate av den første komponenten (22), avsette metall fra elektroden (26) til den første komponenten (22) og produsere et metallsmeltebad (10) som strekker seg gjennom den første komponenten (22) og inn i den andre komponenten (24). Det smeltede metallbadet størkner til en sveis (30) som strekker seg inn i den andre komponenten (24) der sveisebredden ved grenseflaten mellom komponentene er minst lik tykkelsen av den tynneste av den første komponenten (22) og den andre komponenten (24). Lysbuen (28) er minst delvis begravd ned i tykkelsen av den første komponenten og beveges i retning av den ønskede skjøtlokasjonen for å produsere en skjøt.
