Abstract
Sending av signaler, for eksempel høyeffekts signaler, for eksempel høyeffektssmalbåndsignaler, periodisk for å legge til rette for deteksjon av et frekvensbånd og/eller signalbærersignal som skal benyttes for kommunikasjon med en basestasjon er beskrevet. Det detekterte frekvensbånd kan være et nedlinkfrekvensbånd. Opplinkfrekvensbåndet som skal benyttes kan bestemmes ut ifra en kjent frekvensrelasjon mellom den detekterte nedlinksignalbærer og en korresponderende opplinksignalbærer eller ved å overvåke det detekterte nedlinkfrekvensbånd for infonnasjon som indikerer hvilket opplinkfrekvensbånd/signalbærer som skal benyttes. Signalbærersøkemetoder som omfatter søking etter smalbånds høyeffekts signaler benyttet for å tilveiebringe signalbærerinformasjon og/eller for å indikere frekvensbåndet som skal overvåkes, er beskrevet. Effektdeteksjonsmetoder kan benyttes for å detektere høyeffektssignaler, og dermed unngås behovet for symbolsynkronisering og/eller kanalestimering for å detektere signalene som brukes for å lokalisere frekvensbåndet som skal benyttes.
