Abstract
En retningsantenne som har et antall, N, med monopolantenneelementer på utsiden. Disse monopolelementene er utformet som et øvre elektrisk ledende segment på en del av et dielektrisk substrat. Matrisen innbefatter det samme antallet, N, med speilelementer. Speilelementene er utformet som et andre sett med nedre elektrisk ledende segmenter på det samme substratet som de øvre elektrisk ledende segmentene. Speilelementene, som har stort sett samme lengde og form som monopolelementene, er koblet til et referansejordpotensiale. For å komplettere matrisen er et aktivt antenneelement også plassert på det samme substratet, tilstøtende til minst ett av monopolelementene. I et foretrukket arrangement er de passive monopolelementene og de tilhørende speilelementene selektivt koblet for å operere i enten en refleksiv eller en direktiv modus, slik som via et svitsjbart koblingskretsløp som selektivt endrer impedansene koblet mellom dem.
