Abstract
Oppfinnelsen gjelder en ultrasonisk gasslekkasjedetektor av den art hvor en detektoromformer avføler luftbårne akustiske ultralydbølger som utsendes fra en lekkasje i en gassinstallasjon. Detektoren er utstyrt med selvutprøvningsmidler hvorved et ultralydsignal sendes ut av en utprøvningsomformer som utgjør en integrerende del av detektoren, og dette signal mottas av detektoromformeren. Ved hjelp av disse midler kan en fortløpende selvutprøvning av arbeidsfunksjoner for vesentlige komponenter i detektoren, feks. selve detektoromformeren, de forskjellige elektroniske kretser i detektoren, og lignende, utføres, og et varselsignal kan da feks. overføres til et sentralt alarmutstyr hvis korrekt driftsfunksjon av detektoren oppdages. Detektoren i henhold til oppfinnelsen kan være spesialutført for fast installasjon i eksplosjonsfarlige omgivelser.
