Abstract

Et borebrønnsverktøy for å måle densiteten av et fluid som strømmer i en borebrønn ved hjelp av en foton-svekkingsteknikk som omfatter et rør som fastlegger en strømningsbane for fluidet, en fotonkilde ved den ene ende av dette rør, samt en fotondetektor anordnet for å motta fotoner som har passert langs røret i lengderetningen. I en foretrukket utførelse benyttes en kilde som sender ut koinsidente fotonpar, og som fortrinnsvis utgjøres avNa. I denne utførelse har det rør som fastlegger fluidets strømningsbane et første og et andre relativt rettlinjet måleparti, som da er rettet inn på linje med hverandre, samt er anordnet på innbyrdes motsatte sider av fotonkilden, slik at disse målepartier mottar hvert sitt foton fra visse av de koinsidente fotonpar for utsendelse i partiets lengderetning. Tilordnede detektorer ved hver sin ytre ende av målepartiene mottar da hvert sitt av fotonene i fotonparet. De detekterte koinsidente fotoner blir talt, og densiteten av vedkommende-fluid utledes fra telletakten.
