Ved en innretning for å kortslutte er en første elektrisk ledning (1) med en andre elektrisk ledning (2) gjennom i det minste en mekanisk bryteranordning (SM), er det parallelt med den mekaniske bryteranordningen (SM) i det minste en første elektronisk bryteranordning (SEI) anordnet, og antiparallelt med denne i det minste en andre elektronisk bryteranordning (SE2) anordnet, gjennom hvilke en opptredende spenningsforskjell mellom den første elektriske ledningen (1) og den andre elektriske ledningen (2) kan overkobles. En slik anordning er lett å bygge og har kort responstid.
