Abstract

En separasjonsinnretning for å separere en blanding av hydrokarbonvæske og vannholdig væske i atskilte faser av hydrokarbonvæske og vannholdig væske, omfattende en gravitasjonsseparatortank (12) med et innløp (13) gjennom hvilket blandingen som skal separeres kommer inn i tanken, og vann- og oljeutløp (21, 22) anbrakt med avstand til innløpet (13) til tanken for å gi en forhåndsbestemt oppholdstid i tanken, idet innretningen har et ytterligere væskeutløp (26) fra tanken og en ytterligere separator (28) som mottar væske fra tanken via nevnte ytterligere væskeutløp (26), idet nevnte ytterligere separator ved bruk separerer nevnte væskeblanding i oljerike og vannrike strømmer. Oppfinnelsen ligger videre i en fremgangsmåte for å separere en blanding av hydrokarbonvæske og en vannholdig væske i atskilte faser av hydrokarbonvæske og vannholdig væske.
