Abstract

Det totale antall av ioner dannet eller oppnådd i løpet av en ionisering eller ioneintroduksjonshendelse i et Fourier-transform-ionesyklotronresonans- massespektrometer bestemmes enten ved å benytte en på-resonans-eksperimentalteknikk eller en av-resonans- eksperimentalteknikk. Begge teknikker utnytter ionemagnetronbevegelse. I på-resonansteknikken blir spektrometeret eksilert i magnetronmodus, og det enkelte resonanssignalet som forårsakes av denne eksiteringen detekteres for å bestemme det totale antallet ioner.
