Abstract
Praktisk måte å forbedre signalkvaliteten (bærer/inter- ferens, C/I) på, både i forover- og retursignalveien in- nenfor et trådløst punkt/flerpunkts CDMA-samband, ved hjelp av grunnleggende radioretningsbestem- melsesteknikk for å tillate optimal flerveiskombi- nasjon (diversitet) hvor man bruker et antennesystem (et array) med mange elementer. Det hele gjøres en- kelt ved å bruke meget små binærsiffertrinn og en aritmetisk kapitalisering til den endelige alfabetiske signalstruktur, f.eks. ved hjelp av Walsh-symboler i henhold til CDMA-kommunikasjonsstandarden IS-95 eller en kjent læringssekvens. Alternativt kan man bruke flytkommavisning. Fremgangsmåten gjør det lett å implementere ASIC for derved å muliggjøre spredt signalbehandling for å komme frem til ønsket resultat. Særlig brukes data i foroverkanalen til å be- stemme retursignalenes romstruktur (via antennesy- stemets fordelte stråler) for å forbedre ytelse og kapa- sitet. Optimalisering til IS-95 foretrekkes, men ethvert signal som enten har et endelig alfabet eller en lærese- kvens kan bruke samme idé. Bruk av den kjente sig: nalstruktur gjør det lettere å bestemme antennerekke- responsvektorer enkelt og unngå kovariansmatrise- beregning og -analyse, og følgelig kan prinsippene også brukes for radiosamband av typen GSM og TDMA.
