Description
Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører en fremgangsmåte for bekjempelse av tapt sirkulasjon i en sone under semen-
tering av olje-, gass- og vannbrønner som består av at en tiksotrop sementoppslemming pumpes inn i sonen,
pumpingen avsluttes og den statiske oppslemmingen får herde.
Olje, gass og vann som dannes i grunnen står under store
trykk. Boring i disse formasjonene krever borehullstrykk som oppveier formasjonstrykket for å forhindre ukontrollert strømning av disse formasjonsfluidene inn i borebrønnen.
Disse trykkene kontrolleres ved å opprettholde til-
strekkelig hydrostatisk trykk i borehullet. Dette opp-
nås innledningsvis ved å sirkulere borevæsker gjennom disse avsnittene som står under trykk.
Vanligvis er det første trinnet i operasjoner som utføres
for å fremstille hydrokarboner fra underjordiske formasjoner,
å sementere eller forsegle området mellom horehuset og formasjonsveggen. Dette oppnås enten ved direkte å
innføre sementen i hulrommet mellom formasjonsveggen
og yttersiden av huset, eller ved å pumpe sementen inn i
huset med tilstrekkelig trykk til at sementen tvinges tilbake opp i det ringformede hulrommet mellom ytter-
siden av huset og formasjonsveggen. Slike innledende sementeringsoperasjoner betegnes primær sementer ing.
Andre typer arbeider som innbefatter sementering under
brønnens levetid refereres til som sekundær- eller hjelpe-sementering. Slik sekundær-sementering vedrører fullførelse og reparasjon av brønnen etter at
produksjonssonen er nådd. Slik virksomhet innbefatter prikksementering (en fremgangsmåte hvor en oppslemming tvinges inn i formasjonen ved at den proppes inn i hullet mens det opprettholdes et kompensasjonstrykk), gjenplugging med sement for å stenge ute vann fra bunnen av hullet, forsegling av sprekker, hulrom,
lekkasjer og "tørste" formasjoner som forårsaker tapt sirkulasjon, og sementering av lekkasjer i horehuset.
Å beskrive en typisk brønnoperasjon er ikke enkelt siden sementeringsbetingelsene kan variere fra svært grunne forhold til dybder som overskrider 9100 m. I alle brønner forekommer imidlertid to funda-mentale forhold som ikke vanligvis er tilstede ved håndtering og støping av betong, dvs. temperatur og trykk. Temperaturene kan variere fra under fryse-
punktet i permafrosten i Alaska og Canada, til 370°C
i brønner som ligger i den geotermiske strømmen i området ved Salton i Sør-California. Trykkene i de

dype, varme brønnene kan overskride 1400 kp/cm og,
langs Gullkysten, er sementeringstrykk som over-
skrider 700 kp/cm 2 ikke uvanlige. Begge deler har innflytelse på den effektive plasseringen av sement under jordoverflaten.
Soner med huleformasjoner eller sammenhengende druse-
rom krever bare at flyttrykket i sonen overskrides for at fullstendig tapt sirkulasjon skal opptre. Den vanligste typen tapt sirkulasjon tilskrives formasjons-oppdeling eller brudd på grunn av trykket. Brudd--3 -3
gradienter på 1,38 x 10 til 1,50 x 10 kp/cm er vanlige i mange områder og svake, lite motstandsdyktige formasjoner med bruddgradienter mindre enn 1,15 x 10 -3 kp/cm møtes ofte. Ikke alle formasjoner som har lave bruddgradienter resulterer i problemer med tapt sirkulasjon.
Småbruddene som oppstår plugges tilsynelatende raskt
igjen med faste slambestanddeler og boreavfall.. Denne oppbyggingen setter borebrønnen i en tilstand som tillater slamtrykket å overskride det normale brudd-forlengelsestrykket. Uheldigvis kan mange soner ta imot store mengder boreslam (eller sementoppslemming) uten å plugges igjen. Slike formasjoner virker.som trykk-avlastningsventiler og kan ofte resultere i sement-
tap der hvor det kritiske trykket overskrides.
Prikk-sementering er en velkjent fremgangsmåte innen oljeindustrien. Generelt benyttes prikksementeringen for å forsøke å oppnå en positiv og permanent forsegling mellom brønnborehullet ved den underj.ordiske grunnformasjonen på den ønskede lokasjonen. Et problem som ofte møtes ved trykksementering er tapet av oppslemming til formasjonen. I meget permeable eller porøse formasjoner kan en betydelig del av sementen som benyttes absorberes av formasjonen på
grunn av at denne har lav motstand mot flytstrømning, derved forhindres en positiv forsegling fra å
dannes.
Petroleumsindustrien har anvendt tiksotrope sementer hovedsakelig som en hjelp til å kontrollere problemer med tapt sirkulasjon ved visse anvendelser av prikk-sementering og i situasjoner hvor det er et problem å opprettholde en sirkelformet fylling. Sementer som har <t>iksotrope egenskaper er ønskelige fordi de tilveiebringer rask utvikling av statisk gelstyrke etter at de er støpt. Det vil si at tiksotrope sementer er utformet slik at oppslemmingsviskositetene holder seg lave mens oppslemmingen er i bevegelse, men når denne får forbli statisk gelerer oppslemmingen raskt.
Et eksempel på en tiksotrop sementsammensetning og en fremgangsmåte for anvendelse av denne ved forsegling av underjordiske formasjoner er beskrevet i U.S. patent nr. 3.835.926 og 3.928.052. Sammensetningen består av vann, hydraulisk sement, en silikatforbindelse, et hydroksyd og et salt. U.S. patent nr. 3.959.003 og 3.804.174 beskriver en sementsammensetning som, som et additiv, innbefatter et komplekst reaksjonsprodukt av en vann-oppløselig karboksyalkyl-, hydroksyalkyl-
eller blandet karboksyalkylhydroksyalkyleter av cellulose og et flerverdig metallsalt. Sammensetningen viser tiksotrope egenskaper og det foretrukne reaksjons-produktet benytter hydroksyetylcellulose og zirkonylklorid. Uheldigvis har nye undersøkelses-fremgangsmåter vist at sammensetningene ifølge disse patentene viser heller begrensede tiksotrope egenskaper.
Det er flere ulemper forbundet med sammensetningene
nevnt ovenfor. Ved mange oppslemmingsutførelser,
er det vanskelig å kontrollere omfanget av utviklingen av statisk gelstyrke ved å tilpasse additiv-konsentrasjonene. Økning av additiv-konsentrasjonene viser tendens til å forkorte fortykningstidene i uakseptabel grad. Videre,
er det vanskelig å oppnå aksepterbar tiksotrop respons over ca. 93°C. I tillegg er aksepterbar tiksotrop respons i oppslemminger av lav vekt også vanskelig å oppnå.
Det eksisterer følgelig et behov for en fremgangsmåte
til sementering av olje- og gassbrønner som tilveiebringer en meget tiksotrop sementoppslemming som utvikler høy gelstyrke på tilstrekkelig kort tid til å være nyttig til bekjempelse av tapt sirkulasjon.
Ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse er det tilveiebragt en fremgangsmåte for bekjempelse av tapt sirkulasjon i en sone under sementering av olje-, gass- og vannbrønner som består av at en tiksotrop sementoppslemming pumpes inn i sonen, pumpingen avsluttes og den statiske oppslemmingen får herde. Fremgangsmåten er kjennetegnet ved at oppslemmingen som anvendes består av vann, hydraulisk sement, en eller flere kryssbindbare harpikser valgt fra vannoppløselige celluloseetere; polyvinylalkohol; homopolymerer, kopolymerer og terpolymerer av AMPS (2-akrylamido-2-metylpropansulfon-syre), natriumvinylsulfonat, akrylamid, N,N-dimetylakrylamid og akrylsyre, og et titanchelat kryssbindingsmiddel som er:

hvori R"<*>" er etylen eller isopropylen; eller en delvis polymerisert forbindelse I hvori polymer isasjonen har funnet sted på titanatomet.
En rekke titanchelater benyttes sammen med vannoppløselige cellulose-etere, som f.eks. hydroksyalkylcellulose, karboksyalkyl cellulose, eller karboksyalkyl-hydroksyalkyl cellulose til å fremstille sementoppslemminger som har utpregede tiksotrope egenskaper og som raskt utvikler meget høye statiske gelstyrker. Nærmere bestemt innbefatter en slik tiksotrop oppslemming vann, hydraulisk sement, et titanchelat kryssbindende middel, og et kryssbindende middel som f.eks. en hydroksyetylcellulose (HEC) eller karboksymetylhydroksyetylcellulose (CMHEC).
En slik oppslemming kan i tillegg innbefatte andre vanlige sementadditiver som f.eks. retardasjons-
midler.
Det er oppdaget at størrelsen av den statiske gelstyrken kan kontrolleres ved mengden av tilsatt titanchelat og cellulosederivater. Slike oppslemminger kan ut-formes slik at de effektivt bekjemper tapt sirkulasjon. Mengden av kompleksdannende middel, titanchelat, som benyttes har betydelig mindre innflytelse på oppslemmingens fortykningstid enn sammensetningene nevnt ovenfor. Utmerket tiksotrop respons med forskjellige titanchelater er observert ved temperaturer over 93°C.
Videre gir titan-kompleksdannelsesmidlene mer effektivt tiksotrope egenskaper til sementoppslemminger med lav
vekt enn de som hittil har vært benyttet.
Nedenfor følger en mer spesiell beskrivelse av oppfinnelsen med referanse til typiske utførelser av denne.
Ved fullførelse av brønnarbeider benyttes sementopp-
slemminger nesten universelt til å fylle det ringformede hulrommet mellom huset og det åpne hullet. Etterherding er hovedfunksjonene av slike sementoppslemminger og forhindrer fluidbevegvelse mellom formasjoner for å
beskytte huset mot korrosjon og for å understøtte huset. Sementene fremstilles fra materialer med høyt kalsiumkarbonatinnhold, som f.eks. kalkstein, og leirskifer, jern og aluminiumoksyd tilsettes i noen tilfeller som et supplement til mengden av hver av bestanddelene som finnes i leire eller skifer. API-publikasjonen "API Specifications for Materials
and Testing for Well Cements", API Spee 10,
første utgave, januar 1982, beskriver spesifikasjoner for sementer som benyttes i sammensetning av sementerings-oppslemminger for anvendelse i oljebrønner.
Fortykningstiden for sement-oppslemmingen er sterkt
avhengig av temperatur og trykk. For å oppnå optimale resultater innbefattes ofte en rekke additiver i sammensetningen av sementoppslemminger for å variere sement-tettheten, øke eller nedsette styrken, forkorte eller forlenge herdetiden, kontrollere filtreringshastigheten, redusere oppslemmingsviskositeten, øke motstanden mot korrosive fluider, forbinde formasjoner ved tapt sirkulasjon, og forbedre økonomien. En sement som
oppfyller API-spesifikasjonene blandes ned vann og andre additiver for å tilveiebringe en sementerings-oppslemming som er egnet for de betingelsene som eksisterer i hver enkelt oljebrønn.
Ved foreliggende oppfinnelse ble det funnet at visse titanchelater kan benyttes som kryssbindende midler og tilveiebringer utmerkede tiksotrope egenskaper og utvikling av gelstyrke. Videre kan titanchelatene som anvendes ved foreliggende oppfinnelse sammen med et egnet kryssbindbart additiv fremme utviklingen av til-
strekkelig statisk gelstyrke i et tilstrekkelig kort tidsrom til å være effektiv ved bekjempelse av tapt sirkulasjon. Imidlertid er titanchelat-kryssbindingsmidlene noe mer temperaturfølsomme, og ved utvikling av en spesifikk oppslemming må man derfor ta hensyn til sirkulasjonstemperaturen i bunnen av hullet.
En annen beslektet fordel ved foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører den oppdagelse at anvendelse av titanchelat-sementadditiver i tiksotrope eller også konvensjonelle, sementoppslemminger som inneholder konvensjonelle additiver (innbefattet dispergeringsmidler) resulterer i at det oppnås uniform eller forbedret kompresjonsstyrke. Ofte kan utvikling av adekvat kompresjonsstyrke innen
12 eller 2 4 timer være meget vanskelig å oppnå ved toppen av foringen, spesielt når foringen er lang nok til at den statiske temperaturen ved toppen av foringen ligger nær eller under sirkulasjonstemperaturen for bunnen av hullet (BHCT). Ved noen foringsutførelser er den statiske temperaturen ved toppen av foringen 8 - 22°C
lavere enn BHCT. I disse tilfellene kan det ta svært lang tid før sementoppslemmingene når tilstrekkelig kompresjonsstyrke til at driften kan fortsettes.
Sementsammensetningene som anvendes ved fremgangsmåten ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse, bekjemper denne for-sinkede oppnåelsen av kompresjonsstyrke. Sammensetningene er skjaer-følsomme, hvilket betyr at når de under-går skjær-krefter holder slike sammensetninger seg flytende og pumpbare i tilstrekkelig lang tid, men når de er statiske utvikler slike sammensetninger høy gel-styrke i løpet av kort tid etterfulgt av rask utvikling av kompresjonsstyrke.
Materialene som skal kryssbindes velges fra gruppen bestående av vann-o<p>pløselig kryssbindbare harpikser som f.eks. celluloseetere, eksemplifisert ved hydroksyalkylcellulose, en karboksyalkylgruppe bestående av cellulose eller karboksyalkylhydroksyalkylcellulose ; polyvinylalkohol; homopolymere, kopolymere og terpolymere av AMPS (2-akrylamido - 2-metylpropan sulfonsyre), natriumvinylsulfonat, akrylamid, N, N-dimetylakrylamid og akrylsyre; og blandinger derav.
Titan-kryssbindingsmidlene er titan-chelater. Titan-chelater dannes ved reaksjon mellom titantetra-klorid eller titanalkoksyder (vanligvis C2~C^) med en lang rekke bi- eller multi-funksjonelle organiske forbindelser. En av de funksjonelle gruppene i den organiske forbindelsen er vanligvis hydroksyl (eller enolisk karbonyl) som utveksles med et klorid eller en alkoksylgruppe knyttet til titanatomet i titankloridet eller -alkoksydet, derved frigjøres ett mol HC1 eller alkohol. Den andre gruppen av den organiske forbindelsen kan ofte være hydroksyl eller karboksyl, karbonyl eller amino, og som et resultat er glykoler, hydroksysyrer, dikarboksylsyrer, diketoner, ketoestere og alkanolaminer tilgjengelig for chelering. For størstedelen er glykoler, hydroksysyrer og dikarboksylsyrer stabile i vandig oppløsning, mens diketoner, ketoestere og alkanolaminer er oppløsningsmiddel-oppløselige og hydrolyserer med varierende hastigheter i vandige systemer.
En serie forsøk ble gjennomført for å bestemme hvor effektive en rekke titanchelater var ved frembringelse av tiksotrope oppførsler. Sement-oppslemmingene som ble undersøkt ble fremstilt ved å tørrblande alle additivene med sementen før vanntilsats. Dersom flytende additiver ble benyttet ble væsken tilsatt blandevannet før sementen ble tilsatt. Sementoppslemmingen ble plassert i en måleinnretning for bestemmelse av statisk gelstyrke, og en standard tiksotrop test ble gjennomført.
Måleapparatet for bestemmelse av statisk gelstyrke
består av tre hovedkomponenter, kammeret og lokk,,
det magnetiske driftssystemet, og streng -trekkings-systemet.
Kammeret er en tykk-vegget beholder av metall med
høy styrke utstyrt med båndoppvarmere plassert direkte på utsiden av kammeret. Et termoelement er ført inn i beholderen slik at temperaturen i beholderen kan kontrolleres. Lokket av kammeret er utstyrt slik at hoveddrivakselen i det magnetiske drifts-
systemet kan føres inn. På den ene enden av akslingen er en rørearm plassert og sikret med en sikringsstift.
På den andre enden av hoveddrivakslingen er det
magnetiske drivhodet påkoblet. Det magnetiske driv-
hodet er i sin tur forbundet via et beltesystem med en kraftkilde som gir magnetisk drift med variabel hastighet, og en torsjons-målingsinnretning.
Et termoelement er ført inn gjennom toppen av det magnetiske drivhodet og ned midt i den hule hoveddrivakselen. Lokket av kammeret er utstyrt med to åpninger. En åpning er forbundet med en trykkvolum-pumpe som benyttes til å generere trykk og den andre åpningen er utstyrt med en raskt åpnende sikker-hetsventil. Bunnen av kammeret er utstyrt med et raskt åpnende ventil og benyttes til å avlaste trykket og tømme forsøksoppslemmingen ved slutten av forsøks-perioden. Strengtrekkingsmekanismen består av en strengtrekkende kappstan eller et trommelarrangement som drives ved hjelp av en tannhjulsmotor med variabel hastighet hvor strengen føres gjennom trekk-arrangementet til en belastningscelle og deretter til toppen av det magnetiske drivhodet.
For å bestemme utviklingen av gelstyrke for sementen ved betingelsene nede i hullet, ble utstyret spesifikt utformet for å måle statisk gelstyrke etter en røre-periode som simulerte plassering, eller støp, av oppslemmingen. Utstyret er utformet for drift ved en maksimaltemperatur på 204°C ved 703 kp/cm<2>.
Den lave friksjonen av den magnetiske driften tillater at oppslemmingen omrøres mens konsistensen kontrolleres i løpet av røretiden. Etter simulering av støpetiden slås motoren av og strengtrekkingssystemet tilkobles det magnetiske drivhodet. Statisk gelstyrke bestemmes ved kontinuerlig å måle det torsjonsmoment som kreves for å rotere rørearmen med svært lav hastighet (0,5
til 2,0°C pr. min.). Ved slike hastigheter gir magnetisk drift meget lav friksjon og svært nøyaktige torsjonsmålinger kan utføres. Siden torsjonsmålesystemet består av en strengtrekkende kapstan eller et trommelarrangement, som drives ved hjelp av en tannhjulsmotor med variabel hastighet, er det tilveiebragt muligheter for nøyaktig kontinuerlig rotasjon og innretninger for kontinuerlig å registrere torsjonsmomentet. Gelstyrken beregnes så fra målingen av torsjonsmomentet og beholderens geometri. Den langsomme bevegelsen av røre-armen tillater måling av den statiske gelstyrken , men hindrer ikke utviklingen av gelstyrke. Gelstyrke-egenskaper kan måles opp til en maksimalverdi på 48,83 kg/m<2>.
Fremgangsmåten for en standard tiksotrop test er
som følger:
1. Oppslemmingen omrøres med den magnetisk drevne konsistensmåleren i 1 time mens temperaturen og trykket økes fra værelses-betingelser til sirkulasjonstemperaturen ved bunnen av hullet (BHCT) og trykket ved bunnen av hullet (BHP) ifølge planen.
2. Etter 1 times omrøring får oppslemmingen stå
i 15 minutter mens den statiske gelstyrken kontinuerlig måles. 3. Etter en statisk periode på 15 minutter røres det i 15 minutter mens konsistensen kontinuerlig måles. 4. Den statiske perioden og røreperioden gjentas totalt 3 ganger.
Med dette utgangspunkt ble en grunnleggende opp-slemmingssammensetning undersøkt. Denne oppslemmingen besto av API klasse H sement, 0,4 vekt-% karboksymetylhydroksyetyl cellulose, regnet på basis av sement-vekten, 44 vekt-% vann beregnet på basis av sement-vekten og retarderingsmiddel som angitt i tabell I.
Tabell I angir området for temperatur, trykk og
mengder av retarderingsmiddel som ble benyttet ved hver simulert brønnbetingelse. Temperaturområdet
varierte fra 60°C til 135°C. Mengden av retarderingsmiddel som ble benyttet var tilstrekkelig til å tilveiebringe minst 3$ times fortykningstid ved forsøksbetingelsene, hvor fortykningstiden angis ifølge definisjonen gitt i API spesifikasjon 10.
Tabell II angir fysiske og kjemiske egenskaper for de titanforbindelsene som er undersøkt.
Tabell III angir de data som er oppnådd. Det gis en beskrivelse av additiver sammen med mengden av additiver som benyttes (relativt vekten av sementen), temperaturer og resultater fra målinger av gelstyrke. Konsentrasjonen av retarderingsmiddel ved hver temperatur er gitt i tabell I. De oppgitte gelstyrkene er den maksimale styrke i kg/m 2som ble oppnådd i løpet av hver 15. minutts periode.
Disse dataene indikerer at visse titanholdige midler kan gi sementer tiksotrope egenskaper under de ovenfor angitte betingelsene. Slike midler er representert ved formelen:
hvor X 1 og X 2 representerer funksjonelle grupper som inneholder oksygen eller nitrogen, Y 1 og Y 2 representerer kjeder med to eller tre karbonatomer, og R 1 og R 2 kan være hydrogen, substituerte eller usubstituerte alkyl- og arylgrupper som f.eks. metyl, etyl, allyl, n-propyl, isopropyl, benzyl, etc., eller kombinasjoner derav.

I tillegg innbefatter variasjoner av strukturen som antas å være effektive hel eller delvis erstatning av alkoksydet, -OR, eller halogenatomer med en eller flere

Det resulterende midlet som benyttes i fast eller flytende form, oppløst i vandig eller ikke-vandig oppløsningsmiddel, eller plassert på bærere som f.eks. silisiumoksyd, diatomé^jord eller andre inerte, faste medier.
Eksempler på produkter som er observert å være nyttige ved foreliggende oppfinnelse, er nærmere angitt, ved tre følgende formler: (a) Acetylacetonat-titan-chelat

Delvis polymeriserte utgaver av dette produktet som innbefatter polymerisering ved titanatomet er også nyttige ved foreliggende oppfinnelse. I tillegg kan den ene eller begge acetylacetonat-ligandene erstattes av andre beta-diketoner. Videre kan produktet innbefatte bare en beta-diketon ligand.
(b) Melkesyre-titan-chelat -
( (HO)2Ti(OCH(CH3)COO_)2) (M+)2, skjematisk skrevet:
og modifikasjoner av dette produktet hvor M<+> er hydrogen, alkalimetallkation, ammonium, eller protonert amin. Delvis polymeriserte utgaver av dette produktet som innbefatter polymerisering ved titan-atomet er også nyttige ved foreliggende oppfinnelse. Den ene eller begge laktatligandene kan erstattes av en lang rekke andre alfa-hydroksysyrer,
som f.eks. salicyl-, glycol-, malein-, vin-, sitron-, alfa-hydroksysmørsyre, og tallrike sukker-avledede syrer fra glycerin- til sukker- og glukonsyrer.
Det er også mulig å fremstille chelater ved anvendelse
av dikarboksylsyrer. To vanlige chelater av denne typen er fremstilt med oksal- og phthalsyrer eller salter derav.
(c) Trietanolamin-titan-chelat -
( (CH3)2CHO)2Ti(OCH2CH2CH2N(CH2CH2OH)2)2 skjematisk skrevet:
og modifikasjoner av dette produktet som innbefatter erstatning av -C3H7 gruppen med forskjellige andre alkyl- eller arylgrupper, eller erstatning av -OC3H_,-gruppene med hydroksyd eller halogenatomer, og delvis polymeriserte utgaver av disse produktene. Andre nyttige ligander i denne gruppen som kan erstatte den ene eller begge trietanolamin ligandene innbefatter 12 1 tripropanolamin, (R )„N-R -0H hvor R er hydrogen, metyl, eller etyl og R 2er etyl eller propyl, 2-(2-aminoetylamino)etanol. 12 13 12 (HOR)(R )N-R -NR R hvor R er en etylengruppe og R , R , R3 er alkyl, hydroksyalkyl-, eller aminoalkylgrupper, quadrol ((HOCH(CH3)CH2)2NCH2CH2N(CH2(CH3)HCOH)2) , "theed" ((HOC<H>2<CH>2)2NCH2CH2N(CH2CH2OH)2), og forskjellige andre alkanolaminer. Disse kompleksene kan inneholde 1-4 alkanolaminligander pr. titanatom. Et foretrukket titanchelat fra denne klassen fremstilles ved reaksjon mellom titanisopropoksyd med to mol trietanolamin slik at det dannes titantrietanolamin pluss to mol isopropylalkohol. Produktet er en væske som inneholder ca. 8,3 % titan.
En foretrukket klasse av fast titan-chelat er beskrevet
i US patent nr. 2.935.522. Disse midlene har følgende generelle formel:
hvor R er isopropyl (-C3H7) og R 1 er etylen eller isopropylen. Et foretrukket titan-kryssbindende middel ifølge oppfinnelsen er titan-monotrietanolamin representert ved den generelle strukturformelen hvor R er isopropyl og R 1 er etylen. Dette materialet er et hvitt, frittflytende fast stoff som kan tørr-blandes med sementen. Modifikasjoner av denne strukturen innbefatter produkter som inneholder to trietanolgrupper med foreslått struktur representert ved: og dimere med en struktur som antas å tilsvare følgende:
hvor R<1> er etylen eller isopropylen.
I tillegg er det observert at blanding av visse forbindelser med titan-chelatene øker den tiksotrope responsen som observeres med et gitt chelat. Ved lave temperaturer, spesielt under ca. 60°C, viser sementsammensetningene som inneholder de nevnte titan-chelatene begrensede tiksotrope egenskaper.
Grunnen til dette antas å være en tendens til at
titanet ved disse lave temperaturene foreligger i en form som gjør det lite effektivt som kryssbindende middel. Tilsats av en effektiv mengde av visse sukker-typer aktiverer titanet ved lave temperaturer, og tillater det å virke som et effektivt kryssbindende middel.
En foretrukket forbindelse av denne typen er fruktose, selv om det antas at forbindelser som f .eks. mannose, glukose, arabinose, galaktose, katekol og andre forbindelser som inneholder hydroksylgrupper i cis-konfigurasjon ville fungere like bra.
En foretrukket utførelse av foreliggende oppfinnelse
ble undersøkt under de betingelser som forefinnes nede i hullet. Brønnbetingelsene var som følger:
Total dybde: 6.706 m
F6ring: 12,7 cm (0,34 kg/cm)
Statisk temperatur ved bunnen av hullet: 163°C Sementplassering: 5.262 m til 6.706 m.
Brønnen befant seg i et område som hadde en meget oppsprukket sone fra 5.822 m til 5,852 m. Denne sonen ble oppdaget ved et borebitfall på 3,05 m under boring. Ved dette punktet begynte brønnen å ta inn 1,04 kg/l borevæske med en hastighet som overskred 1.092 l/time.
En oppslemming som hadde følgende sammensetning ble
først fremstilt og undersøkt i laboratoriet:
50/50 (volumdeler) API klasse H sement/flyveaske 17% fint silisiumoksyd-pulver 0,4% kalsiumlignosulfonat
0,4% kaliumpentaborat
1,0% karboksymetylhydroksyetyl cellulose 0,4% titantrietanolamin
Tilstrekkelig vann til å oppnå en oppslemmings-vekt på 1,61 kg/l
Sementeringsoperasjonen ble utført i et trinn mens spillmaterialet ble oppbevart gjennom hele arbeidet. Sementen var plassert 138 m over toppen av f6ringen. Målinger av bindingen indikerte tilfredsstillende til utmerket binding gjennom hele tidsrommet.
Det bør bemerkes at en rekke forskjellige retarderings-midler kan benyttes i sementsammensetningene som anvendes ved fremgangsmåten ifølge
foreliggende oppfinnelse, men disse retarderingsmidlene må ikke i betydelig grad dispergeres i den aktuelle oppslemmingen. Grunnen til at man bør unngå retarderings-midler som vil fortynne oppslemmingen er at slike dispergeringsmidler vil ha en negativ innvirkning på oppslemmingens tiksotrope egenskaper. Et eksempel på
et foretrukket retarderingsmiddelsystem er kalsium lignosulfonat og kaliumpentaborat i et vektforhold på 1:1.
Det kryssbindbare materialet kan også virke som et retarderingsmiddel. Dette er en grunn til at CMHEC
og HEC er foretrukne materialer ved høyere temperaturer. Det erkjent at både CMHEC og HEC virker som retarderings-midler for sementherding. Polymerene som inneholder akrylsyre, viser også retarderingsegenskaper. De andre
nevnte kryssbindbare materialene retarderer ikke i betydelig grad herdingen av en sementoppslemming,
og er derfor først og fremst nyttig ved lavere temperaturer .
Det bør bemerkes at omfanget av retarderingen ikke
i betydelig grad påvirker de tiksotrope egenskapene av sementsammensetningen så lenge som retarderings-midlet ikke i betydelig grad dispergeres i den aktuelle oppslemmingen. F.eks. forblir tiden som medgår for å utvikle statisk gel-styrke den samme uansett om sammensetningen pumpes i 2 eller 8 timer.
Den mengden titan som er nødvendig for å gi sementsammensetningen utpregede tiksotrope egenskaper vil variere avhengig av den ønskede statiske gel-styrke, mengden av kryssbindbart materiale som er tilstede, og temperaturen. Følgelig kan den generelle mengden som kreves variere fra 0,01 til 10 vekt-% av sementen. Det foretrukne området vil generelt være fra 0,25 til ■ 0,75 vekt-% av sementen.
En foretrukket underklasse av titan-chelatet er alkanolaminene. Innen denne foretrukne underklassen er et foretrukket alkanolamin titantrietanolamin.
Det mest foretrukne titan-chelatet er den faste formen av titan monotrietanolamin. Følgelig vil den mest foretrukne sammensetningen bestå av ett eller flere av de foretrukne titan-chelater, ett eller flere av de foretrukne kryssbindbare midlene og fruktose.
Flere modifikasjoner kan foretas. F.eks. kan titan-chelatet avsettes på en inert bærer for å lette inn-blandingen i den tørre sementen. Slike bærere kan innbefatte diatomé-jord eller silisiumoksydpulver.
Claims (11)
1.
Fremgangsmåte for bekjempelse av tapt sirkulasjon i en sone under sementering av olje-, gass- og vannbrønner som består av at en tiksotrop sementoppslemming pumpes inn i sonen,
pumpingen avsluttes og den statiske oppslemmingen får herde, karakterisert ved at oppslemmingen som
anvendes består av vann, hydraulisk sement, én eller flere
kryssbindbare harpikser valgt fra vannoppløselige cel
luloseetere; polyvinylalkohol; homopolymerer, kopolymerer og terpolymerer av AMPS (2-akrylamido-2-metylpropansulfonsyre), natriumvinylsulfonat, akrylamid, N,N-dimetylakrylamid og
akrylsyre, og et titanchelat kryssbindingsmiddel som er:
hvori:
X<1> og X<2> står for funksjonelle grupper som inneholder oksygen eller nitrogen
Y<1> og Y<2> betyr kjeder inneholdene 2 eller 3 karbonatomer
