Description
Det er kjent at etylenisk umettede forbindelser kan frem-stilles ut fra klorhydrokarboner ved hjelp av en krakking- eller pyrolyse-prosess ved avspaltning av et molekyl hydrogenklorid. Krakkingen utføres i fravær av katalysator ved oppvarming av klorhydrokarbonet i en inert atmosfære under høy temperatur og høyt trykk. Vanligvis anvendes en temperatur i området 500 - 600°C og et trykk på 6,8 - 4 0,8 ato. Frembringelsen av denne energi er selvsagt kostbar.
I europeisk patent 2 021, er et katalysatorsystem omfat-tende en zeolitt som er behandlet eller omsatt med en flyktig Lewis-syre beskrevet for dehydrohalogenering av etylendiklorid. Egnede katalysatorer innbefatter faujasitt-Y-zeolitt omsatt
med TiCl4.
Syntetisk aktivert natrium-zeolitt A underkastet katione-bytting med toverdige kationer er i US-patent 2 920 122 angitt å være egnet ved dehydroklorerin,g av halogensubstituerte hydrokarboner. Spesifikke eksempler innbefatter omdannelse av tert.-butyl-klorid til isobuten.
I US-patent 3 927 131, spalte 4, linjer 28 - 50, tabell I, er det beskrevet anvendelse en syntetisk zeolitt, SK-120, inne-holdende 10% sjeldne jordarter som ikke er nærmere angitt, og 0,5% palladium ved dehydrohalogenering av alifatiske klorhydrokarboner. De anvendte temperaturer var 400 - 600°C.
Ved tidligere kjente prosesser for dehydroklorering av klorhydrokarboner har det vært en forutsetning at den syntetiske zeolitt var modifisert ved reaksjon med Lewis-syrer eller ved katione-bytting (toverdige kationer) eller inkorporering av sjeldne jordarter eller edelmetaller. Det ville være ønskelig å tilveiebringe en syntetisk zeolitt-katalysator for dehydroklorering av hydrokarboner hvilken ikke krever preparering eller modifisering på ovennevnte måter.
Ved tidligere kjente prosesser har man dessuten bare oppnådd begrenset omdannelse av klorhydrokarboner, hvorved det var nødvendig med lange kontakt- eller reaksjonstider eller klorhydrokarbonet måtte føres over katalysatorskiktet flere ganger.
Det ville være ønskelig å fremskaffe et katalysatorsystem som muliggjør fremstilling av dehydrokloreringsproduktene med relativt høyt omdannelsesutbytte under anvendelse av reduserte reaksjons- eller kontakttider uten dannelse av betydelige meng-
der av biprodukter.
Det ville ennvidere være ønskelig å tilveiebringe et katalysatorsystem med hvilket dehydrokloreringen av klorhydrokarboner vil oppnås ved relativt moderate reaksjonstemperaturer, med derav følgende redusert energiforbruk.
Det ble nå uventet funnet at forbedret omdannelse kan oppnås med mindre energi ved en fremgangsmåte som omfatter krakking eller dehydroklorering av klorhydrokarboner ved hvilken det som katalysator anvendes en syntetisk kiselsyreholdig zeolitt valgt fra gruppen bestående av ZSM-5 og silikalitt. Frem-gangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen er angitt i kravet, og det vises til dette. Ved anvendelse av katalysatorer som angitt kan krakkingprosessen utføres ved en temperatur i området fortrinnsvis 200-400°C, mer foretrukket 250-350°C, dvs. forholdsvis lave temperaturer.
De klorhydrokarboner som kan dehydrokloreres i henhold til oppfinnelsen, er mettede halogenerte "forbindelser med 1-6 karbonatomer, såsom 1,1-^og 1,2-dikloretan, 1,2- og 1,3-diklorpro-pan, 1,2,3-triklorpropan, 1,1,2-trikloretan, 1,2-diklorbutan og lignende. Foretrukket er 1,1- og 1,2-dikloretan som anvendes
for fremstilling av vinylklorid.
De syntetiske kiselsyreholdige zeolitter som anvendes ved den foreliggende oppfinnelse, er velkjente på området. ZSM-5 er beskrevet i US-patent 3 702 886. Silikalitt beskrives som krystallinsk silisiumdioksyd som etter kalsinering i luft ved 600°C i 1 time, danner en silisiumdioksyd-polymorf med en mid-lere brytningsindeks på 1,39±0,01 og en spesifik vekt ved 25°C på 1,70±0,05 g/cm 3. Silikalitt er beskrevet i US-patent 4 061 724. D.H. Olson et al. har i J. of Catalysis, 61, 390 -
396 (1980) redegjort for de forskjellige zeolittstrukturer ved-rørende ZSM-5 og konkluderte med at sterkt silisiumdioksydhol-dige pentasil-strukturer såsom silikalitt har egenskaper som er i overensstemmelse med og som har direkte sammenheng med alumi-niuminnholdet. Silikalitt kan derfor anses som en slutt-repre-sentant i en substitusjonsserie, eksempelvis en hovedsakelig
alurainiumfri form av ZSM-5.
Disse syntetiske zeolitter anvendes i den foreliggende fremgangsmåte enten i en alkalimetall- eller hydrogen-ion-form. Ingen spesiell behandling eller preparering av katalysatoren er påkrevet annet enn normale behandlinger såsom kalsinering for å fjerne organiske residuer.
Det vil forstås at zeolittkatalysatoren plasseres i krak-kingreaktoren på en slik måte at damper eller gass kan passere hurtig gjennom den. Katalysatoren i reaktoren kan enten være et fast skikt eller et fluidisert skikt. Krakkingtrinnet kan utføres med eller uten tilsatt inert gass, hvor nitrogen er den foretrukne gass for dette formål. Etter at krakking-reaktoren
er spylt med nitrogen,. blir klorhydrokarbonet, fortrinnsvis i gassformig tilstand, innført i reaktoren. Når klorhydrokarbonet kommer i kontakt med katalysatoren, forløper dehydroklore-ringsreaksjonen eller krakkingen glatt og hurtig, hvorunder klorhydrokarbonet omdannes til det tilsvarende etylenisk umettede derivat med hydrogenklorid som biprodukt.
Temperaturen i krakkeren holdes fortrinnsvis i området 200 - 400°C. Temperaturer lavere enn 200°C kan anvendes, eller man kan anvende temperaturer høyere enn 4 00°C. Optimale resul-tater oppnås imidlertid når reaksjonen utføres innenfor det oven-for nevnte temperaturområde.
Krakking-reaksjonen kan utføres ved atmosfærisk trykk eller ubetydelig under atmosfærisk trykk, men i henhold til oppfinnelsen anvendes fortrinnsvis over-atmosfærisk trykk. Et trykk opp-til ca. 100 atmosfærer er tilfredsstillende. Ved høyere trykk kan krakkingen av klorhydrokarbonet resultere i uønskede klorhydrokarbon-biprodukter, såsom CC14etc. Når over-atmosfærisk trykk anvendes, er det tendens til forkoksning eller karbondan-nelse. Periodisk stanses reaktordriften, og karbon eller koks som måtte være dannet, fjernes, vanligvis ved avbrenning, dvs. at reaktoren oppvarmes til en høy temperatur i nærvær av oksygen eller luft. Vanligvis er en temperatur i området 300 - 700°C tilstrekkelig til å fjerne koksavsetninger.
Den tid klorhydrokarbonet reagerer med eller er i kontakt med katalysatoren i reaktoren, kan varieres. Den nødvendige kontakttid mellom klorhydrokarbonet og katalysatoren for oppnåelse av den ønskede dehydrokloreringsreaksjon oppnås ved at man regulerer romhastigheten for det gassformige materiale som passerer gjennom reaksjonssonen. Kontakttiden avhenger av flere faktorer, nemlig operasjonens målestokk, mengden av katalysator i reaktoren eller krakkeren og den type reaktor som anvendes. For de fleste reaktorer kan en kontakttid så lang som ca. 25 sekunder eller mer og så kort som 0,5 sekund anvendes. Hvis kontakttiden er for kort, vil den mengde av ureagert klorhydrokarbon som kommer over, bli for stor. Hvis kontakttiden er for lang, dvs. vesentlig over 25 sekunder, vil på den annen side forurensningsmengden øke, hvilket gjør det vanskeligere å ut-vinne den ønskede forbindelse i ren form. Man kan lett regu-lere tilførselshastigheten for det gassformige utgangsmateriale slik at det oppnås optimal reaksjons- eller kontakttid for hvilken som helst gitt reaktortype.
Den gassformige blanding som uttas fra krakkeren eller reaksjonssonen, kan ledes direkte til en kondensator, hvorved de kondenserbare materialer utvinnes, mens hydrogenkloridet uttas oventil og resirkuleres. Alternativt kan de gasser som uttas fra reaksjonssonen, kjøles og underkastes fraksjonert destilla-sjon under over-atmosfærisk trykk, fortrinnsvis ved det samme eller et lavere trykk som det som anvendes for krakkingen.
De følgende eksempler vil ytterligere belyse oppfinnelsen.
EKSEMPEL 1
En 5,2 g prøve av Lindes molekylsikt-zeolitt, S115 silikalitt (nr. 8251-1-2) ble ifyllt en glassreaktor som hadde en di-ameter på ca. 1,3 cm og en lengde på 11,4 cm. Reaktoren var forsynt med to termoelementer ved ca. 1/3 og 2/3 av reaktorleng-den. Reaktoren ble kalsinert ved oppvarming til 450°C i ca.
16 timer under spyling med nitrogen.
Etter kalsineringen ble reaktoren kjølt, og tilførsel av væskeformig etylendiklorid ble startet med en hastighet på
1,3 ml/time og en nitrogenstrøm på 25 ml/min ved atmosfærisk trykk. Etylendikloridet ble fordampet ved hjelp av en forvarmer og blandet med nitrogenstrømmen i en 21-trinns statisk blander før det ble ledet inn i katalysatorskiktet, som ble holdt ved 325°C. Etter oppnåelse av stasjonære tilstander (ca. 1 time) ble prøver uttatt fra blandingen og analysert, før og etter passasjen gjennom reaktoren, ved flammeioniserings-gasskromato-grafi. Resultatene viste en 50% omdannelse av etylendiklorid. De eneste produkter som ble påvist, var vinylklorid og etylen
(1 - 3%).
EKSEMPEL 2
Reaksjonsbetingelsene i eksempel 1 ble i det vesentlige gjentatt. Det ble oppnådd ca. 50% omdannelse av etylklorid til etylen ved 265°C.
EKSEMPEL 3
Reaksjonsbetingelsene i eksempel 1 ble i det vesentlige gjentatt. Det ble oppnådd ca. 50% omdannelse av 1,1,2-trikloretan til 1,2-dikloretylen ved 225°C.
EKSEMPEL 4
'Reaksjonsbetingelsene i eksempel 1 ble i det vesentlige gjentatt. Det ble oppnådd ca. 100% omdannelse av 1,1,2-trikloretan til 1,2-dikloretylen ved 350°C.
EKSEMPEL 5
Reaksjonsbetingelsene i eksempel 4 ble i det vesentlige gjentatt. Det ble oppnådd ca. 75% omdannelse av etylendiklorid til vinylklorid.
Claims (3)
1. Fremgangsmåte til dehydroklorering av mettede klorhydrokarboner med 1-6 karbonatomer, hvor klorhydrokarbonet i den gassformige fase bringes i kontakt med en syntetisk zeolitt-katalysator,karakterisert vedat det som syntetisk zeolitt-katalysator anvendes en kiselsyreholdig zeolitt valgt fra ZSM-5 og silikalitt.
