Description
Elektrodeholder for elektriske smelteovner.
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår elek-trodeholdere for elektriske smelteovner som
er utstyrt med kontinuerlige elektroder. Disse elektroder brennes som kjent etter hvert i den ovnen hvor de anvendes, og hver elektrode vil derfor bestå av en nedre ferdigbrent del og en øvre ubrent del hvor den rå elektrodemasse er mer eller mindre flytende. Grensen mellom disse partier,
brenhesonen, er forholdsvis skarp og kan lett fastlegges ved at man stikker en tynn stålstang gjennom den varme, rå masse til den støter mot den harde ferdigbrente del.
Strømtilførselen til slike elektroder
foregår vanligvis ved hjelp av et antall vannkjølte kontaktbakker som presses mot elektroden, f. eks. ved hjelp av en utvendig trykkring hvis trykk mot bakkene reguleres på kjent vis.
I alminnelighet vil brennesonen ligge
innenfor den vannkjølte elektrodeholder slik at elektroden er ferdigbrent i elek-trodeholderens underkant, men er rå og ubrent i dens øvre del. Derved vil elektroden forme seg etter elektrodeholderen i dennes øvre del og man får god elektrisk kontakt mellom bakker og elektrodemantel.
I lukkede ovner vil brennesonen i mange
tilfelle ligge i underkant av bakkene, og man risikerer da at elektroden brekker like under holderen, da den her mangler den nødvendige styrke til å kunne motstå de påkjenninger som oppstår. Det er derfor ønskelig å kunne heve brennesonen opp i holderen slik at elektroden får en større motstandsdyktighet mot strekk- og bøye-påkjenninger, og også tåler større ampere-belastning.
Dette kan oppnås ved å redusere kjøle-virkningen i holderen hvorved brennesonen vil krype oppover. Samtidig vil kjølevanns-tapene reduseres. Da de enkelte bakker er sterkt utsatt for påkjenningen av varme-utviklingen i ovnen, er det ikke tilrådelig å redusere kjølevirkningen ved å redusere mengden av kjølevann. Man må tvertimot gå den vei å redusere kontaktflaten mgl-lom elektroden og holderen. Herved opp-rettholdes fullstendig kjøling av de enkelte holderdeler samtidig som kjølevannstapéne reduseres og brennsonen heves. . Ifølge oppfinnelsen utføres bakkene slik at deres nedre del har elektrisk kontakt med elektroden. Den øvre del kan da belegges med et keramisk materiale slik at disse partier har god mekanisk, men ingen elektrisk kontakt med elektroden. Det keramiske materiale må være meget slite-sterkt for ikke å slites bort når elektroden forskyves i holderen. Man kan også belegge det med en metallplate eller lignende som da selvsagt må være elektrisk isolert fra den strømførende del av bakkene, even-tuelt kan man også løfte brennesonen ved å belegge den nedre eller midtre del av holderen med keramisk materiale. For å sikre en god og pålitelig opphengning, må imidlertid som nevnt hver bakke ha mekanisk kontakt med elektroden med hele sin flate.
Et eksempel på oppfinnelsen er illu-strasjonen på vedlagte Fig. I og II, hvor
Fig. I viser en bakke sett innenfra, og Fig. II et snitt gjennom bakken. På disse fi-gurer betegner 1 selve bakken, og 2 den del av bakken som har elektrisk kontakt med elektroden. Denne del er utført i et ledende materiale, f. eks. en kobber- eller
messinglegering. Fig. 3 er det keramiske
belegg på bakkens øvre del. Grenselinjen 4
mellom kontaktflaten 2 og det keramiske
belegg 3 kan ha hvilken som helst hen-siktsmessig form. På figuren er den vist
bølgeformet, men den kan selvsagt også
være rett.
Claims (2)
1. Elektrodeholder for selvbrennende elektroder bestående av vannkjølte kon-
taktanordninger som har mekanisk kontakt med elektroden med hele sin flate, karakterisert ved at kontaktanordningene har elektrisk kontakt med elektroden bare med en del av sin flate.
2. Elektrodeholder i henhold til på-stand 1, karakterisert ved at kontaktan-ordningenes kontaktflate mot elektroden er elektrisk ledende bare i holderens nedre del og elektrisk isolerende i holderens øvre del.
