Abstract
Tekstilmykningsmiddelblanding.Nærværende oppfinnelse vedrorer tekstilmykningsmiddelblandingar.nvendelsen av mykningsmidler for å forbedre mykheten eller "grepet" hos tekstilmaterialer er velkjent. Bortsett fra å meddele mykhet til tekstilene gjor mykningsmidler vanligvis strykning av tekstilmaterialene lettere og forebygger også akkumuleringen av stabile elektriske ladninger på materialene.I de siste 10 år er mykningsmidler for husholdningsanvendelse blitt vanlig kjent. For den vanlige bruk av syntetiske rensemidler for husholdningsvaskeformål ga rester av såpe som

ble tilbake i de vaskede gjenstander mykhet. Med syntetiske rensemidler som effektivt fjerner fettrester fra tekstilmaterialene forsvinner denne effekt. Hvis fettlignende materialer ble tilsatt til vaskeprosessen som gjor bruk av syntetiske rensemidler, vil det være nodvendig å tilsette dem under skylle-operasjonen, når ingen syntetiske rensemidler er tilstede. Imidlertid er tilsetningen av slike fettholdige materialer upraktisk på grunn av at en forholdsvis stor mengde (ca. 1
vekts% av stoffet) er nodvendig for å gi en vesentlig myk-gj brende effekt.
Kationiske, overflateaktive midler, som har minst et kjede-alkylradikal vanligvis med 18 karbonatomsr, har vist seg å være effektive mykningsmidler og kan anvendes ved lave konsentra-sjoner i skyllevannet, normalt ca. 0,05% basert på vekten av tekstilmaterialet. Mesteparten av de mykgjbrende blandinger som anvendes i hjemmet ved vaskning for.tiden inneholder slike kationiske, overflateaktive midler.
De kationiske, overflateaktive midler har imidlertid en vesentlig ulempe ved deres virkning på oppfriskningseffekten av opp-friskningsforbindelser som brukes i forbindelse med dem. På
grunn av gulningen som er forbundet med bruken av kationiske, mykgjbrende midler og den gule misfargning som utvikler seg uvilkårlig i bomullsstoffer ved lagring, er det bnskelig å tilsette et oppfriskningsmiddel til mykningsmiddelformuleringer. Slike oppfriskningsmidler motvirker den gule fargning av
stoffet ved å gi en blå-hvit fluoressens. Tilsetning av oppfriskning smidler til mykningsmiddelformuleringer som er bestemt for husholdningsbruk er vanlig, og slike formuleringer er foretrukket sterkt av giennomsnittshusmoren. De beste og mest vanlig anvendte oppfriskningsmidler er imidlertid meget ineffektive når de anvendes i kationiske formuleringer.
Grunnene til dette er ikke fullt ut forstått, men oppfriskningen som meddeles stoffet når påfbrt fra en kationisk mykgjbrings-opplbsning eller-dispersjon er vanligvis bare 1/4 til 1/3 så
stor som oppfriskningen som meddeles stoffet med samme mengde oppfriskningsmiddel påfbrt fra destillert vann. Da oppfrisk-
ningsforbindelsene er meget dyre, er en mykgjbringsformulering som tillater mere effektiv oppfriskningsmiddelbruk sterkt onsket.
Nærværende oppfinnelse er basert på den erkjennelse at visse klasser av overflateaktive midler som har langkjedede, hydro-fobe radikaler med fra 20 til 30 karbonatomer er effektive tekstilmykningsmidler, som ikke uheldig påvirker effektiviteten av oppfriskningsmidlene som anvendes sammen med dem.
Nærværende oppfinnelse vedrorer således en tekstilmykningsmiddelblanding bestående av et mykningsmiddel og en oppfriskningsforbindelse, og det karakteristiske er at blandingen består av
a) et mykningsmiddel med den generelle formel:

Det lavere homologe, tertiære fosfinoksyd av denne klasse fremstilles etter metoder slik som de som er omtalt av K. Darrell Berlin og G.B. Butler, "Chemical Reviews", bind 60, s. 243-259, juni 1960. Ved bruk av lignende syntese kan de tertiære fosfinoksyder etter nærværende oppfinnelse fremstilles ved å oksydere det tilsvarende fosfin med f.eks. hydrogenperoksyd.
De lavere homologer av forbindelsene, i hvilke den langkjedede gruppe har fra 10 til 18 karbonatomer er anvendelige overflateaktive midler med rensende egenskaper og er kjent som aktive bestanddeler.av rensemiddelblandinger. Det er nå blitt funnet at disse mykningsmidler er overraskende mere effektive til å mykgjore tekstiler enn deres lavere homologer. Dette var ikke til å forutsi, og grunnen for det er ukjent.
Blandingene etter nærværende oppfinnelse inneholder fra 1 til 25 vekts% av den totale blanding av mykningsmidlet.
De alkaliske byggersalter i komponent (b) i blandingene kan være uorganiske eller organiske, og vannopplbselige uorganiske byggersalter som kan anvendes alene eller i blanding med andre byggere er alkalimetallkarbonater, -borater, -fosfater, -poly-fosfater, -bikarbonater og -silikater. (Ammonium- eller substituerte ammoniumsalter kan også anvendes). Spesielle eksempler på slike salter er natriumtripolyfosfat, natrium-karbonat, natriumtetraborat, natriumpyrofosfat, kaliumpyrofosfat, natriumbikarbonat, kaliumtripolyfosfat, natriumheksameta-fosfat, natriumseskvikarbonat, natrium mono- og diortofosfat og kaliumbikarbonat. Kaliumpyrofosfat finner utstrakt anvendelse særlig i flytende blandinger.
Eksempler på organiske, alkaliske, sekvesterende byggersalter som kan anvendes alene eller i blanding med andre organiske og uorganiske byggere er alkalimetall, ammonium eller substituert ammonium, aminopolykarboksylater, f.eks. natrium- og kalium-etylendiamintetraacetat, natrium- og kalium N-(2-hydroksyetyl)-etylendiamintriacetater, natrium- og kaliumnitrilotriacetater og natrium-, kalium- og trietanolammonium N-(2-hydroksyetyl)-nitri-lodiacetater. Blandede salter av disse polykarboksylater er også egnede. Alkalimetallsaltene av fytinsyre, f.eks. natrium-fytat, er også egnede som organiske, alkaliske, sekvesterende byggersalter (se U.S. patent nr. 2 739 942).
Eksempler på andre egnede organiske, alkaliske, sekvesterende byggersalter omfatter: vannopploselige salter av etan-1-hydroksy-1,1-difosfonat (f.eks. trinatrium- og trikaliumsaltene, se U.S. patent nr. 3 159 581); vannopploselige salter av mety-lendifosfonsyre (f.eks. trinatrium- og trikaliummetylendifos-fonat og de andre salter som er beskrevet i U.S. patent nr. 3 213 030); vannopploselige salter av substituerte metylendi-fosfonsyrer (f.eks. trinatrium- og trikaliumetyliden-, isopro-pyliden-, benzylmetyliden- og -halometylidendifosfonatef og de andre substituerte metylendifosfonater omtalt i britisk patent nr. 1 026 366; vannopploselige salter av polykarboksylatpoly-mere og -kopolymere slik som beskrevet i U.S. patent nr. 3 308 067 (f.eks. polymere av itakonsyre, akonitinsyre, malein-syre, mesakonsyre, fumarsyre, metylenmalonsyre og sitronsyre og kopolymere med dem selv og andre forenbare monomere, slik
som etylen), og blandinger av disse.
Mengden av byggersalt i blandingen kan variere fra 0 til 90 vekts% av den totale blanding.

Andre oppfriskningsmiddelforbindelser som kan brukes er de som er særlig egnede for å friske opp syntetiske fibre. Eksempler på disse oppfriskningsmidler omfatter bis-azolene slik som 1,2-bis(5-metyl-2-benzoksazolyl)etylen, bis(5-metyl-2-benzaksazolyl)-tiofen og N-hydroksyetyl-1,2-bis(benzimidazolyl)etylen; mono-azoltyper slik som 2-{m-klorostyryl)-naf to-[l, 2-d]-oksazol og 2-styryl-benzoksazol; pyrazolintypen slik som 1-p-sulfonamido-fenyl-3-p-klorofenyl-2-pyrazolin, og coumarintypen slik som 4-metyl-7-dimetylaminocoumarin og 3-fenyl-7(diamino-sym-tri-azinylamino)-coumarin.
Når disse oppfriskningsmiddelforbindelser anvendes i tektil-mykningsblandingene etter nærværende oppfinnelse er det blitt funnet at gode resultater oppnås når oppfriskningsmidlet er tilstede i blandingen i en mengde på fra 0,01% til ca. 0,8% etter vekt av den totale blanding. Vanligvis brukes disse oppfriskningsmiddelforbindelser i kombinasjon for de beste oppfriskningsresultater.
I blandingene etter oppfinnelsen kan andre forenbare mykningsmidler, såvel som tilsetningsstoffer slik som fortynnings-midler, f.eks. natriumsulfat, matningshemmere, bakterisider, anti-gjenavsetningsmidler (f.eks. karboksymetylcellulose)
farge og parfyme også være inkludert. Eksempler på andre forenbare mykningsmidler som kan brukes i kombinasjon med mykningsmidlene etter oppfinnelsen angis i Chwala "Textilhilfsmittel" Wien 1939, særlig sidene 61-64; Maren "An Introduction to Textile Finishing", London 1948, særlig
kapittel X og Schwartz, Perry "Surface Active Agents",
New York, 1949, særlig sidene 435-437. Andre mykningsmidler som kan anvendes karakteriseres som folger: ester-, eter-eller amidlignende kondensasjonsprodukter som inneholder poly-alkohol-, polyglycol-, polyglycerolradikaler og andre egnede hoymolekulare, fortrinnsvis langkjedede, alifatiske radikaler med 12-18 karbonatomer slik som f.eks. fettsyre- eller fett-alkoholdondensasjonsprodukter med den generelle formel RfC^<H>^<O>) , hvor R er et monovalent acyl-, acylamino- eller alkoksyradikal med 12 til 18 karbonatomer og n er fra 5 til 10 sulfaterte eller sulfonerte, langkjedede, alifatiske alkoholer, kondensasjonsprodukter av langkjedede fettsyrer med hydroksy-eller aminosulfonsyrer, slik som forbindelser med formlene
acylerte eller alkylerte alkylpolyaminer og kvaternære ammonium-forbindelser slik som ditalgalkyldimetyiammoniumklorid, cetyl-pyridinkloridcetyltrimetylammohiumbromid og tetradecyldimetyl-benzylammoniumklorid og mono- eller polyestre av langkjedede fettsyrer med mono- eller polyoksyamider.
I provene som beskrives nedenfor for å illustrere egenskapene hos mykgjoringsblandingene etter oppfinnelsen er visse frem-gangsmåter felles for alle provene.
Fremstilling av provetoystykker - Fremgangsmåte A
Provetoystykkene er vanlige 35 x 35 cm<1>s frottéhåndklær (Style 600 fra Cannon), som vaskes tre ganger med en typisk, sterktvirkende, bygget, anionisk rensemiddelblanding (beskrevet nedenfor) i en standard automatisk vaskemaskin. Etter å være blitt vasket skylles de fire ganger i vann (20 deler vann pr. 1 del stoff). Derpå torkes toystykkene i en standard automatisk torkeanordning. På dette tidspunkt er toystykkene 'ferdige for bruk ved provene. Den sterktvirkende, hyggede, anioniske rensemiddelblanding har folgende sammensetning etter vekt:
17,5% av en 50/50 blanding av natriumtalgalkylsulfat
og natriumliniært alkylbenzensulfonat, hvor de lineære alkylgrupper har et gjennomsnitt på
13,5 karbonatomer
50% natriumtripolyfosfat
6% natriumsilikat
14% natriumsulfat
rest vann
Vaskebehandling - Fremgangsmåte B
Ved prover som omfatter vaskning og/eller skylling av provetoystykkene anvendes den folgende behandling og utstyr. Ved alle vaske- og skyllebehandlinger anvendes 3,8 liters Dexter vaskemaskin. Vaskeperioden varierer i alle tilfeller 10 min. og utfores ved 53°C. Skylletrinnet utfores i to trinn. I det forste trinn underkastes toystykkene en forskylling som varer i 1 minutt og derpå får toystykkene en svsluttende skylling som varer 2 minutter. Begge skyllinger skjer ved 38°c. Torketrin-net utfores i en automatisk torkeanordning. Med mindre annet •er angitt har vannet som brukes en hårdhet på 10,9.
Undersokelse med hensyn til mykhet - Fremgangsmåte C
Sammenligninger med hensyn til mykhet av de behandlede stoffer utfores av et panel på tre eksperter. Hver ekspert forelegges tre par toystykker, og et av hvert par er behandlet med et produkt f.eks. et mykningsmiddel etter oppfinnelsen og det annet med et annet produkt, f.eks. et vanlig kationiske mykningsmiddel, og anmodes om å undersoke hvert par toystykker og velge de mykeste av de to toystykker hvis en forskjell kan iakttas eller om å gradere mykheten som god, bra eller dårlig.
Når det refereres til et vanlig kationisk mykningsmiddel er
det et kvaternært ammoniumklorid med to alkylgrupper med 16-18 karbonatomer, og metylgruppene på nitrogenatornet. Dette produkt er tilgjengelig i handelen under varenavnet "Arquad 2HT-75" og "Aliquat H-226". Når anvendt brukes dette produkt under skylle-
behandlingen i en mengde på O,15 g, hvilket er det normale bruksnivå.
Prove nr. 1
For å illustrere den overraskende mykgjoringseffektivitet for forbindelsene i forhold til deres lavere homologer ble de folgende prover utfort:
Provetoystykker behandlet i overensstemmelse med fremgangsmåte A utsettes for opplosninger av kjent konsentrasjon av myk-gj oringsf orbindelser av (a) med 20 karbonatomer i det langkjedede radikal og tilsvarende lavere homologer med 16 eller 18 karbonatomer henholdsvis i det langkjedede radikal. Behandlingene utfores ved den endelige skylleoperasjon under anvendelse av fremgangsmåte B. Etter torking sammenlignes toystykkene hva angår mykhet ved bruk av fremgangsmåte C. Resultatene er gjen-gitt i tabell I.
Det kan ses at det kreves to ganger så meget av forbindelsen
som har et alkylradikal med 16 karbonatomer (0,1%) for å oppnå samme grad av mykgjbring som oppnås med forbindelsen (hbyere homolog) som har et alkylradikal med 18 karbonatomer (0,05%). Imidlertid, ennå mere overraskende er iakttagelsen at bruken
av mere enn tre ganger så meget av forbindelsen som har et alkylradikal med 18 karbonatomer (0,05%) ikke mykner stoffet til den mykhet som oppnås ved anvendelse av mykgjoringsfor-
bindelsene etter nærværende oppfinnelse, som har et alkylradikal med 20 karbonatomer (0,015%). Ingen grunn er kjent for denne uventede okning i mykningseffektiviteten mellom C^g og C2q homologene. Denne iakttagelse er særlig overraskende i relasjon til den kjensgjerning at det er en forskjell i mole-kylstruktur på bare 2 metylengrupper mellom C^g og C2Q forbindelsene.
Prove nr. 2
Den folgende prove illustrerer mykningseffektiviteten for mykningsforbindelsene etter nærværende oppfinnelse når anvendt under skyllebehandlingen. Provetoystykker behandlet ifolge fremgangsmåte A (hver provemengde inneholder en toymengde på
5 vekts%) vaskes i 10 minutter i en vandig opplosning som inneholder 6 g av det sterktvirkende, anioniske rensemiddel beskrevet i fremgangsmåte A. Etter vaskning av toystykkene skylles de enten i en vandig opplosning som inneholder 0,15 g av det kationiske mykningsmiddel beskrevet under fremgangsmåte C eller 0,15 g av en av de folgende mykgjoringsforbindelser: 3-(N-eicosyl-N,N-dimetylammonio)-2-hydroksypropan-l-sul-f onat
3-(N-eicosyl-N,N-dimetylammonio)-propan-1-sulfonat Eicosyldimetylfosfinoksyd
Reaksjonsprodukt av omsetning av 1 mol eicosylalkohol
med 3 mol etylenoksyd Sulfatert reaksjonsprodukt av omsetning av 1 mol eicosylalkohol med 1 mol etylenoksyd (natriumsalt)
Natrium 2-acetoksydocosyl-l-sulfonat
Etter torking sammenlignes alle provetoystykker som er behandlet med mykgjoringsforbindelsene etter nærværende oppfinnelse med stoffet behandlet med det kationiske mykningsmiddel ved bruk av fremgangsmåte C. Det er funnet at disse provetoystykker som er behandlet med de foranstående mykningsmidler er vesentlig mykere enn de som er behandlet med det kationiske mykningsmiddel.
Lignende resultater kan oppnås ved at toystykker behandlet på lignende måte mykgjores ved å erstatte det foran beskrevne mykningsmiddel med et av de spesielle mykningsmiddelforbindel-ser angitt foran som "foretrukne zwitterioniske forbindelser", "foretrukne aminoksydforbindelser", "foretrukne tertiære fosfinoksydforbindelser", "foretrukne etoksylerte alkoholforbindelser", "foretrukne etoksylerte alkoholsulfatforbindelser" og foretrukne, anioniske sulfonatforbindelser.
Prove nr. 3
Denne prove viser at oppfriskningseffektiviteten for et typisk bomullsoppfriskningsmiddel i en mykningsblanding er langt bedre når mykningsmidlene etter nærværende oppfinnelse anvendes som de mykgjbrende forbindelser i en formulering av mykningsmiddel/oppfriskningsmiddel enn når en typisk kationisk forbindelse anvendes. Ved denne prove behandles prbvestykkene som er beskrevet under fremgangsmåte A med vandige dispersjoner som består av ca. 0,005 vekts% av en av mykningsmidlene som finnes i den etterfølgende tabell og ca. 0,0002 vekts% av bi s-triazinylstilbentype-bomullsoppfriskningsmiddel [4-41-bi s-(4-anilino-6-di[hydroksyetyl]amino-sym-triazin 2-ylamino)-2,2'-stilbensulfonsyre]. Til hver opplosning (dispersjon) tilsettes et sett prbvestykker i tilstrekkelig mengde til å oppnå en stoffbelastning på 5 vekts%. Etter 10 minutters oppholdstid fulgt av skylling i destillert vann og tbrking anbringes prbvestykkene i et fluorimeter for å bestemme graden av fluoressens som meddeles stoffet. De folgende resultater oppnås:
Således er innvirkningen på oppfriskning av mykningsmidlene etter nærværende oppfinnelse meget svak, mens innvirkningen fra det kationiske mykningsmiddel er meget sterk.
Utmerket mykgjdring uten innvirkning på oppfriskningen oppnås når ethvert av de foran angitte mykningsmidler erstattes med en av mykgjoringsforbindelsene tidligere betegnet som "foretrukne zwitterioniske forbindelser", "foretrukne aminoksydforbindelser", "foretrukne, tertiære fosfinoksydforbindelser", "foretrukne etoksylerte alkoholforbindelser", "foretrukne, etoksylerte alkoholsulfatforbindelser", "foretrukne anioniske sulfonatforbindelser" og "foretrukne, tertiære aminoksydforbindelser" .
Resultater lignende dem som er angitt foran iakttas når det anvendte oppfriskningsmiddel i foregående prove erstattes med et av oppfriskningsmidlene tidligere beskrevet som egnet for bruk i blandingene etter oppfinnelsen.
Tékstilmykgjoringsblandingene kan formuleres til enhver av de kommersielt onskede former, f.eks. granulær, flak-, tablett-og flytende form. De foretrukne former er granuler som inneholder ca. 50% eller mer av det alkaliske byggersalt og flytende former som inneholder 10% eller mindre av de alkaliske byggersalter og kan eventuelt inneholde organiske opplosnings-midler, slik som lavere alkoholer, særlig etylalkohol. Det folgende er eksempler på typiske blandinger ifolge oppfinnelsen.
Claims (2)
1. Tekstilmykningsmiddslblanding bestående av et mykningsmiddel og en oppfriskningsforbindelse, karakterisert ved at blandingen består av a) et mykningsmiddel med den generelle formel:
hvor R"*" er et alkyl-, alkenyl- eller monohydroksyalkyl-radikal med fra 20 til 22 karbonatomer, og 2 3
R og R som kan være samme eller forskjellige,
hver betegner metyl, etyl eller hydroksyetyl, og Q er nitrogen eller fosfor, b) fra 0 til 90 vekts% av et vannopploselig alkalisk byggersalt, c) fra 0,01 til 1 vekts% av et optisk oppfriskningsmiddel, og d) vann.
2. Blanding etter krav 1, karakterisert ved at det optiske oppfriskningsmiddel er dinatrium-4,4'-bis-[4-anilino-6-di(hydroksyetyl)amino-2-triazin-2-ylamino] stilben-2,2'-disulfonsyre.
