Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår en sterilkoker, omfattende en beholder med anordninger for frembringelse eller tilførsel av damp og med et lokk som lukker beholderen. Slike sterilkokere anvendes ofte i operasjonsrom for øyeblikkelig steriliser-ingsbehov, og det er derfor ønskelig å hin-dre at dampen ved kokingen sprer seg i rommet, særlig da kokingen må være in-tens for at instrumentene og forbindings-sakene skal bli absolutt sterile. According to the invention, this is essentially achieved by the fact that on the outside of the container and at its upper edge there is arranged a cooling channel that runs all the way around and that the lid is provided with at least one surrounding flange, which when the lid is closed is located immediately at one of the cooling channel's walls, so that steam, which enters between the flange and the cooling channel, is condensed and thereby prevented from flowing out of the boiler.
