Abstract

Prepn. of 1-phenyl-3-amidinourea derivs. of formula (I) is as follows: (X, Y and Z are H, halogen, NO2, OH, acyloxy, CN, 1-5C alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy or alkylsulphonyl or aryl-(1-5C)alkoxy; R and R1 are H or 1-5C alkyl; R2 and R3 are H, 1-10C alkyl, lower alkenyl, 3-7C cyclo-alkyl, 3-9C cycloalkenyl, aryl-(1-10C)alkyl, (3-7C)cyclo-alkyl-(1-5C)alkyl or lower alkynyl; or R2 + R3 may form a 5- to 7-membered ring opt. including 1 or 2 N, O or S; R4 is H or 1-5C alkyl; and R8 is 1-5C alkyl, Ph or Ph-(1-5C)alkyl; provided that >=1 of R-R3 is other than H).
