Abstract

In an adhesive compsn. in form of an aq. dispersion, the solids content is 20-85% and comprises 10-90 wt.% of >=1 synthetic polymer having particle size 0.05-10 mu, chosen from PVAc, polystyrene, copolymers of vinylacetate, vinylchloride or vinylidene chloride with >=1 monomer with 1 ethylenic double bond, and copolymers of styrene with >=1 monomer with 1 or 2 ethylenic double bonds; and 90-10 wt.% mineral particles (size 0.1-120 mu) chosen from carbonates, sulphates and silicates of Ca, Mg, Al or Ba. Compsn. has high tack and sets almost immediately on contact of adherends. It has no corrosive effect on equipmt. It may be used at rel. low temps. and has good water resistance.
