Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition that contains talc of extremely fine particle sizes and a specific particle size distribution, thus showing good balance between impact strength and toughness and having high scratch resistance, good surface properties such as appearance and high weld strength.
CONSTITUTION: A talc that has a specific surface area of more than 45,000cm2/g, preferably more than 55,000cm2/g, an average particle size of 0.2W1.5μ, preferably 0.2W1.2μ and a particle size distribution as follows: 60W95wt% of the particles are less than 1μ in size, more than 60wt% is less than 2μ, more than 90% is less than 5μ and more than 95% is less than 10μ and substantially the diameter of all particles is less than 10μ, is added to a crystalline propylene polymer by 5W60wt%, preferably 5W50wt%. Further, a precipitating colloid of more than 16,000cm2/g specific surface area and 0.16W1.0μ average particle size or calcium carbonate crushed by the wet method is used together to improve the balance in physical properties, surface properties and fabricability markedly.
