Abstract

The refrigerator has two refrigerating circuits with respective evaporators in the freezing and refrigerating complartments. A refrigerating circuit condenser is in heat exchange with the freezer evaporator, the temp. of the latter being controlled by varying the available area of the condensation wall. The condenser pref. includes a control gas reservoir, the control gas constituting an interface with refrigerant vapour at the condensation wall. The interface is movable along the wall, and the reservoir may include a reversible control gas getter which can be heated to vary the amt. of free control gas. System provides independent temp. control of the compartments, the refrigerating compartment evaporator being controlled without the use of auxiliary energy.
