Abstract

The body extremity traction equipment fits onto a hospital bed, having one or more power units connected to the traction member, together with a coupling between the latter and the extremity, for which a support is also included. The support (15) is part of an assembly (1-15) movable as a unit, to which the power unit (11) is coupled so that on moving the assembly the relative positions of traction member (28) and support remain largely unaltered. The assembly can comprise a rail (4, 5, 8) with a supporting member (1) for the joint between the lower extremity and the body, resting on the bed. This has a bearing (3) in which the assembly pivots. It also incorporates a second rail (12) pivoting halfway along the first and equipped with the supports, the first rail having a support (14) for the upper part of the leg, and the second one a support (15) for the bottom part. The power unit is attached to one or both rails at the outer end.
