Abstract

The printing roller sleev eis particularly for deep and flat printing machines. It comprises a thin-walled sealed cylindrical sleeve of rigid and resilient material, working in conjunction with one or more components in the machine, and acting as a support for etchable material or a photo-chemical coating. At one end of the sleeve there can be a rigid end dish section or internal collar for fixing to the machine, while the other end is open. In relation to the cylinder diameter the wall thickness can be so small that when the edges are clamped and a load is applied at a point near the halfway mark between the edges, the wall dents before the sleeve buckles under this load, where cylinder length is its dia.
