Abstract

The bucket elevator comprises a jib (17) which, during operation, extends downwards, and which has a number of guide rollers (22, 19, 23, 24, 31) for a chain (20) carrying the buckets (21). The jib can swivel about a horizontal axis. The jib is held in a carrier (16) which permits it to be moved in longitudinal direction. Two of the rollers (23, 24) are arranged adjacent to the carrier and a horizontally movable trolley (27) carries the reversing roller (26). The arrangement is such that, when the jib is moved vertically upward, the slack in the chain is taken up by the trolley moving horizontally away from the carrier (16) and vice versa.
