Abstract

The indirectly operating switching system has an operating control electrically and mechanically isolated from the controlled load. The switch consists of a coil (3) on a former (2) with a pivoted armature (4) able to take up either of two positions in relation to the coil. The coil can be energised with pulses which are carried to an electrical circuit, with a characteristics which are varied when the armature is set by a mechanically operated leverage with a manual control to one or other of its possible settings. The state of the coil and armature system as represented by the variations in the pulsed current is interpreted by the associated electrical circuit so as to effect the desired switching function.
