Abstract

Paper web carrier is mfd. for compressing the web slurry to extract the water before the structure of paper is formed, using the permeable carrier to transport the material through squeeze rollers. The reverse face of the continuous carrier felt incorporates a number of discret spaced raised surfaces where the carrier materials is relatively uncompressed. Each of the localised raised surfaces has a channel to allow extracted water to pass through horizontally and laterally as the wateris forced through from the upper surface carrying the papermaking material. The design allows extracted water to flow freely out and under control.
