Abstract

Composite foil insulating system comprises (1) a first layer of an insulating material comprising polybutadiene having terminal carboxy gps. as binder in which is dispersed a mixt. of fibres and flakes of asbestos, and (2) a second layer of fine aluminium foil adhered to the first layer. The system has good heat insulating properties. Propergol adheres well to the insulating material. Used for lining rocket motor combustion chambers.
