Abstract

The return-flow preventing arrangement is intended for use in conjunction with a shut-off valve (2) on a pressurised gas bottle. It comprises a housing (5) connected to the valve and provided with a bore (13, 15, 6) containing two axially slidable plungers (18, 19) each having a flow passage (23; 26, 26'). The plungers are spring-loaded (27, 28) towards one another and their travel is limited by stops (16, 17). One element (18) has a valve seat (22) and is in sealing contact with the bore wall (15), whilst the other element (19) carries a valve closure member (25) which leaves the passage (26, 26') free. The closure member (22) is held on the seat (22) as the two elements (18, 19) are pressed together by the springs (27, 28).
