Abstract

The shelf supports have uprights (1) for shelf brackets (19). Each upright has a hollow square cross-section with front face opening (4) and reentrant lips (5) each side of the opening. Shelf brackets are folded metal, with vertical legs (29) tapering from back to front. The top surface (17) holds the shelf. The rear end of each bracket forms an angled clip (21) inserted into the upright and adjusted to the required height by sliding. The load on the shelf forces the clip against corresponding surfaces of the upright, so that it is held by friction.
