Abstract

1311814 Shelving S KESILMAN M KRAVITZ and H B PENN 28 May 1971 [4 Nov 1970] 17727/71 Heading A4B A shelving assembly comprises spaced tubular uprights 1 on which are slidable shelf supports 9 releasably secured at any desired height by grub screws 15, each shelf 4 being provided at each corner with a collar 9 having a frusto-conical cavity 10 which wedges over a support 9. As shown, Fig. 2, the support 9 comprises an annular base 13 with upwardly extending resilient fingers 14 which frictionally clamp onto the upright 1 when engaged within a collar 9. In a modification. Figs.10,11, (not shown), the uprights 1 are of square cross-section, the support and collar cavity being correspondingly shaped. In another embodiment, Figs. 8, 9, using a square section upright 18, the shelf support 17 comprises a base part 19 and two upstanding walls 20, 21 with inclined outer surfaces having a wedging engagement in the collar 16.
