Abstract

The plastic crate is partic. for packing fruit and vegetables and has a bottom (1) four side walls (2-5), at least two handles (19), and openings in the bottom (18) and/or in the walls (6, 8). The upper ends of the sides are double-walled (13) and there are reinforcing ribs (10 11, 14, 15) connecting the two walls and extending downwards to a flange (16) provided at the lower end on the outside. The flange is pref. inclined downwards. The side walls may have slots (6, 8) with inwardly projecting rims (7). The flange may be arranged close to the bottom level. The handles may be formed by a slot (19) bounded by planes (20, 21) connecting the double walls.
