Abstract

Regulator valve is for reducing the pressure of a flow of gas, and has a sleeve-type seat and a moving plug fixed to a stem in the form of a cage with radial holes in rows, and with a closed end. At the latter end there is a conical portion extending away from the seat end at an angle of approximately 17 deg. to a plane at right angles to the direction of movement of the valve plug. There is a second perforated cage (16) on the valve stem (4), working with a second sleeve-type seat (20), its closed end being furthest from the gas outlet. The end wall of this cage has a conical inner surface at roughly the same angle as that of the first one (11), whose end wall is furthest from the inlet. The radial holes in the second cage can be arranged in a spiral pattern.
