Abstract

Tubes of thermoplastic material are bent by plasticising the section where the bend is required and applying a slight internal overpressure. The inner wall of the section to be bent has a deformable enclosed hollow body brought into contact with it. This is filled with a medium under a slight overpressure, so that the tube can be given the required contour. Prevents the development of deformations in the tube, as occurs when the ends of the tube are plugged for the application of internal pressure, since, due to the action of heat on the medium, the pressure cannot be kept constant. In the flexible hollow body, the changes in pressure are balanced.
