Abstract

Glazing system not using putty secures a pane of glass in the groove of a wooden frame by means of elastic packing material between the pane and glass strips. The packing material is flexible and of U-section (12), glued round the edge of the pane and having, along the free edges, flanges (9, 10) tapering in the undistorted form. The edges of the flanges are preloaded on the one side against the pane (11), and on the other against the exposed faces of the glass strip (16) and the wooden frame (15). The flanges can be mainly formed on the outside of the arms of the U-section. The latter can have adhesive strips inside, gluing it to the pane as far as the points where the flanges are attached.
