Abstract

The brain stimulating electrical impulse apparatus has at least one set of electrodes (10) applied directly to the cerebellum in a specific zone. Electrical impulses are generated of 0.5-2.5 ms. duration, 0.5-14.0 V amplitude and frequency of up to 300 impulses per second. These impulses are supplied to the electrodes. One set of electrodes are applied to the paleo-cerebellum region and a second set to the neo-cerebellum region. The impulses are applied in alternate bursts to the two sets with each burst having a duration of 1-30 minutes. The technique is used for treating specific disorders such as epilepsy, hypertonia etc. without restoring to massive doses of medication, or surgical treatment.
