Abstract

Silo comprises a vertical cylindrical container and discharge having break-up rollers and suction pipes, carried on a motor-driven rotary frame, which discharge can be raised and lowered by lifting means. The lifting means are coupled to a mechanism which causes the discharge to be raised when the power absorbed by the motor exceeds a pre-determined limit, to be lowered when this power drops below a pre-determined, lower, limit, and to be held steady when the power is between these limits. The mechanism preferably energises the lifting means only when the pre-determined limits have been exceeded for a given length of time.
