Abstract

The flexible hose is intended for transporting a pressurised medium and has a wall in flexible material (1), such as rubber, provided with a reinforcing layer (2) of a woven fabric embedded in the wall. The reinforcement consists of at least two superimposed mantles (3, 4) whose filaments cross at approximately right angles, whereby part of the filaments (4) extend longitudinally parallel to the centre line of the hose, and another part (3) circumferentially in planes approximately at right angles to the centre line. There may be a maximum of twelve such mantles. The innermost mantle may consist of circumferential filaments and may be of greater strength than the other circumferential mantles.
