Abstract

The mower has one or more rotary cutter heads on vertical axes, each with one or more knives pivoting freely on vertical spindles. the cutting portion of the knife is secured to a supporting body (14) which is at an angle to the cutting edge (13) when viewed in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation. The body can fit over the spindle (12) at one end, and be so designed that in use it extends from the latter in the direction opposite to that in which the cutter head rotates. A stop can be mounted on the head, against which the body bears in use, being situated between the spindle and the cutting edge.
