Abstract

The automatic printing machine using lithographic techniques has been designed especially for light containers, especially cylindrical vessels made of synthetic plastics. A vacuum source is used to feed a number of suckers (170) which are conveyed by an endless chain drive which rotates around three pulley wheels (142, 143, 144). Each container is carried downards by a mandrel (47) from the printing place, and then pushed horizontally to mate the end of the container with a sucker. At the same time the feed pipe is coupled with the vacuum manifold (180). The container is held until it leaves the mandrel and is subsequently rotated by a sprocket until the rim falls on the upper surface of a conveyer belt (182).
