Abstract

On both sides of the transmitting heads there are driving pulleys which are driven from the driving shaft of the main drive via a belt drive with a common flexible belt in such a way that the belt runs in the direction of the tape from the driving shaft to the front driving pulley, thence to the rear driving pulley and from there back to the driving shaft. As a result of the belt tension increasing from the front to the rear driving pulley, the rear pulley is forced to drive the belt more quickly than the front pulley, so that the tape has a constant tape tension at the transmitting heads between the driving pulleys.
