Abstract

The auxiliary frame is for suspension on an existing frame in a hothouse, department store etc., so as to support a second layer of panes of glass and thus produce double-glazing. It can have a central body (1) with condensate troughs (2, 3) at the bottom and supporting flanges (6, 7) at the top for the first layer of glass. At the bottom there is also a horizontal H-section (8-12) for the edges of the second glass layer, and the suspension components join onto one end of the top leg of the H-section. These can comprise a body (13) at right angles to the leg and a transverse flange (14). The height of the body is such that when the flange rests on a condensate trough of the existing tray it bears against the edge of a flange on the existing frame, and which supports the glass in the latter.
