Abstract

The washer is intended for use under the head of a bolt or screw with which deformable material, such as insulation board in plastic or glass fibre and the like, is secured to a surface and is of the type consisting of sheet metal (1) with a central bore (2). The washer has one or more annular depressions (3, 4, 5) concentric with the bore. Around, and adjacent to, the bore, the surface area is increased by an annular upward bulge (6). There may be a conical portion (7) around the bore to receive a countersunk screw, the bulge being in opposite direction relative to the tapered portion such that the edge (12) of the bore does not extend below the lower face of the washer.
