Abstract
The running and braking of an asynchronous motor with two windings and which is used to drive a lift system may be controlled by control systems acting on the windings. The speed of a motor (3) is controlled by obtaining the difference of the theoretical and effective speeds for processing in a regulator circuit (9) of very high amplification. The output signal is passed to circuits (10, 11) which act on the two windings (4, 5) of the motor (3). The motor windings are three phase and comprise a control winding (4) and brake winding (5). The moment of rotation is controlled by the action of thyristors on the phases of the winding. The braking action is obtained by passing a direct current from a single phase bridge rectifier through the brake winding (5).
